Laguna Beach, California is a small town located on the Pacific coast of southern California. Its economy depends largely on tourism, and its beaches are renowned for their clear waters and white sand. The town was founded in 1902 by John P. Hagood, who named it after his home town of Lahaina in Hawaii. The townsite was originally an unincorporated area on the southeast side of Laguna Beach proper. It became a full-fledged community in 1905 when Mr. Hagood donated land to make it a place where people could live and raise families. In 1916, the city of Laguna Beach approved plans to build a water pipeline that would run through the center of town and serve as an important source of revenue for both communities. The name "Laguna" came from Hawaiian Kahoʻolawe (lighthouse) which had been destroyed by Typhoon Ia in 1893 during American military occupation of Hawaiʻi . In 1941, during World War II, Fort MacArthur was built adjacent to the beachfront for use as a navalBasecamp(later Camp Pendleton). The fort served as a key pivot point throughout World War II because it housed many Naval Air Station( NAS) personnel who flew supplies into battle across vast distances during operations such as Leyte Gulf . After World War II ended, Fort MacArthur reverted back to barracks status until its activation again in 1954 as part of Marine Corps Base San Diego(MCB San Diego). As part of MCB San Diego's functions were providing living quarters for enlisted Marines while they awaited discharge or promotion; also at that time there was no veterans' benefits program like today's Department Of Veterans Affairs (VA). In December 1998 MCB San Diego transitioned from Marine Corps Bases system to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst which provides housing and services direct to US Navy sailors aboard USS George Washington (CVN 71) at Naval Air Station North Island (NAIS North Island), Petaluma County , CA., making LagunaBeach one pointofcontact between DOD/Marine Corps installations outside mainland DOD/Marine Corps Districts with DoD jurisdiction over certain areas within thoseinstallations As part of this transition process SAN DIEGO COUNTY TRANSITION CENTER INC., under contract withArmy Corp Of Engineers - Caltrans Division 5C - developed plans & specifications for constructingrailroad bridge across SR 101W just north OF LAGUNA BEACH Blvd.; construction began Jul 1 2002 thru Sep 30 2002

BSWC continued to grow rapidly and announced plans in 1990 for its first international expansion into Canada. That same year, BSWC completed its acquisition of Canadian manufacturer Gaston Firearms Limited which created Guild Arms Limited as an affiliate subsidiary of BSWC. By 1992, BSWC had 14 companies operating in North America with production facilities located in departments from Atlanta to San Francisco; Mexico City; Hartford Connecticut; Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; Omaha Nebraska; Toronto Ontario; La Jolla California; Asuncion Paraguay and Manaus Brazil. Laguna Beach, California is a city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 64,402 at the 2010 census. The name Laguna Beach is popularly believed to come from the Spanish phrase "aguas blancas" meaning white water. The area that now makes up Laguna Beach was originally two small islands in the Pacific Ocean and was known as Rancho de la Paloma. In 1885, Donald Wickersham bought part of Rancho La Paloma and made it into a town called Laguna Beach on what are now US-101 and US-521. Laguna Beach grew rapidly during World War II due to its military base then Naval Air Station Sealab Although many people had heard of Laguna Beach before 1945 when it became a naval air station, no one actually lived there until after the war ended. After the war ended, most of the buildings were destroyed by fire or vandalism. A few new structures were built but they all burned down within 10 years because of lack of funding for fire prevention measures like smoke alarms. The first time anyone saw lagunabuilding going on there was when they noticed some colorful construction pails being used as steps leading up to some Oficiales' homes near Isla Vista beach (the island where today's stores are located). Work on building started in earnest shortly thereafter with more pails coming ashore daily! By 1948 nearly all residents had moved out and only 8 families remained including those who owned most of what is now downtown Laguna beach (today's business district). It wasn't until 1954 that City Manager Earl Kinney set forth with ideas for redeveloping land east of US-101 which included building a seawall alongshoreline and providing housing for local workers as well as opening up Lots 1 through 7 along State Highway 160 which later became downtown Laguna Beach Kinney's vision would become reality as over 60% of present day downtown commercial areas can be traced back to him thanks in part to his efforts such as buying lots adjacent to Sealab so that development could happen quickly without becoming overrun by troops or their families who needed space . He also pushed for high speed traffic lights at West Airport Boulevard and State Route 132 making it easier for locals and tourists alike access everything from Sealab Bay to OC'downtown! Today many people still refer to him locally as "The Mayor" due to his clout during those early days! Today much has changed sinceKinney got started but he remains memorialized through several annual events throughout downtown Los Angeles honoring him such as the LAGUNAB EXPO & SUMMER FESTIVAL which takes place every year on Long Island just south of Downtown LA; he also has an outdoor sculpture garden named after him located near University Avenue & Newport Blvd in Newport Beach
