In 1927, the La Quinta Shooting Club was organized and began to offer target shooting classes. The club became an indoor facility in 1928 when a new building was donated by Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Vickers. In 1932, the La Quinta Rifle Club was founded and began to offer target shooting classes as well as rifle ranges on their property. The first outdoor range opened in 1942 on Veterans Memorial Drive (now State Route 66). A range clubhouse, parking lot, and 18 targets were provided for use by the members of both clubs; however, due to World War II there were no opportunities for target shooting outside of the club during that time frame. In 1954, membership at both clubs merged into one organization with a new name – American Rifleman International Incorporated – which continues to offer target shooting courses and ranges today!

La Quinta, California (population: 2,965) is a small town in Kern County, California. It is located on the junction of State Route 44 and State Route 158. La Quinta was founded in 1887 by Francisco Palomares and his brother Manuel. The current courthouse was built in 1911. The town has a history dating back to 1887 when Francisco Palomares and his brother Manuel established La Quinta as a temporary settlement for travelers on their way to the Bakersfield–Napa Valley Railway. At that time, there were no stores or other amenities available in the area so residents relied upon hunting and gathering resources to sustain themselves. In 1912, the first post office was opened at La Quinta with mailing privileges to Bakersfield. In 1916, the name of the post office was changed to La Quinta because it had been decided that Kern County would be named after José Feijóo Hidalgo, an army general who served in Mexico during the Mexican-American War. On January 1st of each year since 1951, La Quinta celebrates its " Fiesta de la CIudad" which includes parade and festival activities throughout downtown including music performances by local bands and entries into various contests such as art/crafts exhibitions, sack races between schoolchildren aged 7-11 years old (codenamed "Racer Penitentiary"), food trucks from all over town joined by restaurants serving variety of churros (chocolate chip pancakes), carnival games including a Ferris wheel and two water rides; as well as fireworks displays at nightfall. On December 1st each year la quintanera hosts its annual San Antonio Fair which includes agricultural exhibits from around Northern California; chuckwagon racing from 9am-1pm; arts & crafts demonstrations at 3pm; carnival games starting at 4pm; costumed characters from 5pm-10pm; plus live entertainment throughoutthe evening by local celebrities

By 1870, La Quinta had a population of 5,000 and was considered one of the most important agricultural towns in California. However, during World War II, La Quinta became a military base for US soldiers stationed in Central America and Mexico. As a result, the town declined until it regained its former prosperity in the late 1960s and 1970s due to new development around it. Today, La Quinta is an important community with a rich history that can be enjoyed by visitors from all over California.
La Quinta was founded in 1853 by prospectors John S. Webb and James L. Weir, who named it for the Quintana Roo Desert in Mexico. The area that is now La Quinta was ranch land owned by Mexican landowners until the arrival of American settlers in the mid-19th century. In 1854, a party led by Capt. George A. Hemenway discovered oil reserves on Rancho Victoria near La Quinta, and began drilling wells there. By 1870, some 800 wells had been drilled in La Quinta, producing oil and gas as well as other minerals. In 1883, an Englishman named Harry Fenton acquired Rancho Victoria from the Mexican landowners; he renamed it Anglo-Mexican Oil Field after his company's first discovery there. Anglo-Mexican Oil Field became one of America's largest oil companies and produced more than $2 billion worth of oil over its existence; it eventually merged with Standard Oil Company to form ExxonMobil Corporation in 2002. The city of La Quinta was incorporated on November 12, 1912, following annexation of portions of Riverside County by Los Angeles County; at its incorporation, La Quinta had a population of about 25 people. It grew rapidly during World War II due to the increased demand for munitions production within Los Angeles County and beyond; during the war years, La Quinta became home to several large military installations (most notably Fort MacArthur) as well as numerous housing developments for troops stationed nearby (e.g., Willowbrook). The city's population reached 1008 residents by 1951; however, growth stalled thereafter because many new homes were not built until after Interstate 5 was constructed through most of town in the early 1960s."
