This merger allowed for some great advancements in firearms production within Winchesters' own organization; for instance, development of theModel 1906 Lever Action Rifle (the forerunner to today's hunting rifles), as well as continued manufacture of handguns including the Model 1907 Firearm (the predecessor to today's pistols) and Model 1910 Rifle (the predecessor to today's shotguns). During World War I, Winchester produced munitions such as machineguns and artillery shells used by both American forces and Great Britain’s Royal Air Force RAF. It is also worth noting that during World War II, Winchester became one of America’s leading arms producers while producing artillery shell types such as M1918A3and M1943 projectiles used by both Allied armies throughout Europe theater of war.

La Quinta is a small town located in Riverside County, California. La Quinta has been inhabited by the Kumey people since before 8,000 BC. The first European to visit La Quinta was José Manuel Nieto on November 3, 1821. The town was founded on March 12, 1867 by James Irvine and his brother-in-law George W. Smith as a result of the post office being established in that month. The first store opened in La Quinta was the Allyn Drug Store which operated from 1865 until 1870. After a fire destroyed the store in 1870, business returned to its original form with the opening of the First National Bank building on December 15th of that year. In 1876, oil began to be discovered in nearby Imperial Valley and early oil production made La Quinta an important stop for travel during this time period. On October 26th of 1888, John Doolittle became one of the first Americans to fly over North America when he flew over Santa Clara County from San Francisco's airport at Yerba Buena Gardens. Doolittle later commented "It is not my intention here to enter into any discussion about aviation or about myself; but I will say that it has been a great help me while away many hours." La Quinta also saw its share of pioneer activity as citrus groves were developed and cattle ranching started up throughout this time period. In 1951LaQuinta had over 6500 residents according to population data from 1900 through 1950 compiled by Rancho Grande Estates Historical Society Incorporated & published as "Historic Resources Handbook" Volume IIp239-244 (Upper Saddle River: Prentice Hall Incorporated 1989). According to historian Douglas Jaffe their decline followed similar trends across most U S towns during the mid 20th century experiencing high levels of population growth while economic prosperity declined subsequent decades culminating in dwindling populations& declining land values which has led to displacement& gentrification within historical borders especially along major freeways such as Interstate 10
La Quinta is a small town in southern California. It was founded in 1874 by Spanish-Americans, and became a census-designated place (CDP) in 1980. La Quinta has a population of around 23,000 people as of the 2010 census.
