One interesting fact about the city is that it has two football teams: la Liga MX side Pachuca FC and America FC from North America Soccer League (NASL). These teams have both played at least one game each season since 2007.

However, it appears that it could potentially be regained if done correctly- which is what we are currently working towards with our recent studies on bipedalism!

La Palma is a small island located in the Pacific Ocean, about midway between Mexico and Chile. It was originally part of Juan Manuel de la Paz y Costilla's personal domain. Mexican troops entered the island on December 11, 1813 during his unsuccessful attempt to gain control over Chilean territory which lay to the north. La Palma became a part of Mexicali County, Baja California, after its annexation by Mexico in 1848. The first Europeans to visit La Palma were Pedro Fortunato de la Rúa and Gaspar de Portolà in 1769. The islands were discovered on October 12, 1695 by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo, who named them San Salvador and Santa Cruz del Sur respectively. In 1798–99 Vasco Nunez sailed from Isla de las Palmas with three ships and landed about fifty men at Puerto Rico for trade with Spanish America; he also explored the vicinity of La Palma but did not find any oil deposits or other valuable resources. In 1800 José Joaquín Balboa discovered an archipelago off the coast of Baja California called Guanacaste; this discovery led to increased efforts by Spain to win control over that region as well as Latin America's richest source of maritimeGold (see: "Guanacaste"). On October 5, 1802 Balboa sighted Santiago de Cuba while sailing westward along what is now U.S. Route 101; he named it La Isla Cubana (the Cuban Island). On November 3rd Francisco De Anza set out from San Diego under directions from Captain Cook to explore both coasts of North America west of Alaska before returning home on November 25th having traveled 1,500 leagues (2,829 km). He had reached almost within American soil when he died suddenly at age 43 aboard his ship Santiago at Cape Másima near modern-day Point Conception on December 8th 1796.(1) A year later Antonio López Menchaca discovered another archipelago off the coast of Baja California called Monterey Bay; this discovery led to increased efforts by Spain to win control over that region as well as Latin America's richest source of maritimeGold (see: "Monterey Bay") On January 24th 1803 Don José Gutiérrez founded El Quiroz y Arellano Mission ("The Jesuit Mission"), one of several missions established in coastal areas between New Spain and Alta California during Franciscan missionary rule.(2) The mission was destroyed by an earthquake in 1833 but its ruins remain today just offshore from where they once stood.(3) A few weeks after Gutiérrez's death his brother Mariano founded El Real Colegio Nuestro Señor Jesús en el Caribe ("Our Lord Jesus Christ School at Caribbean Sea")(4), which continued operations until 1862 when it merged into Colegio San Carlos Borromeo de las Americas operated by Obispo Fray Ricardo Jiménez Velázquez.(5) Fernando Ortiz started construction on what is now known as Ortega y Gasset House on July 15th 1826(6), one day after reaching land that would become Los Angeles County.(7) At first there was no market for Byeensons' oranges because there was no means for them to transport them across country butOrtaga soon developed a large citrus grove that still thrives today.) hugo jones made history when he drove a bill bus down Ventura Boulevard in Hollywood
