On July 10th 1916 voters passed an ordinance authorizing annexation by referendum Mayor Gorman appointed Driscoll as head of public works for all cities within Los Angeles County when Gorman left office in 1923 On October 15th 1924 Mayor Harry Bridges announced plans for Las Brisas Boulevard which would run parallel to Home Avenue between Hawthorne Boulevard near Dodger Stadium and Manchester Boulevard near LAX Airport On November 8th 1924 Mayor Harry Bridges announced plans for a new town called "Laguna" which would be south of downtown Los Angeles along Interstate 5 just east of Laguna Canyon Road On December 12th 1924 Mayor Harry Bridges announced plans for another town called "Nuendo" which would be northwest of downtown Los Angeles along Interstate 5 just east of Nuendo Canyon Road Cleveland’s move into West Hollywood changed everything when he decided that he wanted his own town adjacent to Nuendo
