In 1958, during CA/US Border Patrolman John Fetterman's legendary strike against picketers outside his former home north of Anaheim Hills (now Anaheim Stadium), he killed three men with a rock while under arrest near what is now known as Chavez Ravine off I-15 southbound just before 2 p.m.. A plaque at that location honors Fetterman and fellow Border Patrol agent Lonnie Swartzell who died during that day's action also marking 50 years since Operation Overthrow - one of history's largest law enforcement operations involving U.S./Mexico border agents when it included jailbreaks from Mexican jails In 1969–1970 federal authorities began construction on what would become Corona del Mar Naval Air Station which would serve both local military forces operating along the Southern California coast as well as international interests including North Vietnam Airlines Flight 847 which crashed into rugged terrain near Corona Del Mar shortly after takeoff; that event became known locally as "the crash." In 1851, José María Orozco purchased Rancho La Habra from Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla for $10,000 cash. He also received title to some mineral rights on the property. In 1865, John Sutter bought Rancho La Habra from Orozco for $40,000 more money. Sutter developed it into a ranch that became known as Sutter's Fort. After World War II ended in 1945, most of the military installations at Sutter's Fort were retired or demolished in favor of civilian use and development; however, one military installation - Camp Roberts - remains operational today as a museum open to the public on weekends only. The first post office at Menifee was established in 1854; Santa Monica came much later with its own post officefledged on December 13th 1888 following an act by then-Governor Huntington Beach (DCA). Rancho La Habra changed hands several times before becoming part of what is now Orange County in 1907 when it was donated by Jens Jensen to Josefina Carrillo and her husband Antonio Carrillo Jr.; they had married into a wealthy Mexican family who owned large tracts of land east of Los Angeles City limits (). After being divided between Josefina Carrillo and her husband's two sons - Juan Francisco Carrillo Sr., owner/operator thereof until his death in 1925() and Enrique Vincente Carrillo Jr., who operated it until his death in 1950() - it passed through several hands before coming into the ownership of Mrs. Betty Jo Burns Esparza finally upon her marriage to Drury Burnes on January 1st 1957(). This gave birth to Burns' Gardens which are still run today by their descendants Mrs."
