In 1892, railroad construction began through La Habra and it rapidly grew into one of California's major cities. The city's main thoroughfare became Intersection Street and businesses quickly sprang up along its length. The Great Depression hit California during World War II and La Habra lost many businesses, but it bounced back during the war as American factories went into production again. After the war, la Habra experienced an influx of people from Southern California who found work in manufacturing jobs throughout the area. Today,La Habra is Chinooks' most diverse city with many different cultures living side by side for commerce and culture
