At that time Junction City severed its affiliation withGeneral Electric Company; however all employees were treated as if they had been employed by United Technologies Corporation until their dismissal effective October 1st 2001 or until they retired or left GE employment effective January 1st 2002 provided their leave expired prior to that date

La Canada Flintridge is a small town in Kern County, California, nestled atop eastern hills in the Santa Cruz Mountains. With an elevation of 1,868 feet (521 meters), it's one of the highest towns in California. La Canada Flintridge was founded by prospectors on the east side of the Flinn River on March 25, 1859. The name means "the land beyond the river" and its founders were motivated by their hope to find gold and silver near San Francisco Bay. Prospecting proved fruitless and by 1861, most of the men had left for other parts of California. In 1865, two men purchased 640 acres (250 hectares) of land along Clear Creek which became La Canada Flintridge Township. In 1867, John Fenton opened a school at La Canadia Creek and continued to operate it until his death in 1937. He bequeathed $10,000 to help build a new school. The first post office was established at La Canada Flintridge on July 10, 1870; it was moved to its current location in 1893 due to pioneer problems with reliable postal service over rugged mountain roads. By 1914 there were only six residents living in La Canada Flintridge; today there are over 100 residents who call this town home. The history of La Canada Flintridge began with prospecting activity from early settlers on both sides of the Flinn River watershed between Mission Creek and Clear Creek It wasn't until 1863 that any indication that gold could be found as large chunks or dust particles fell from sky like raindrops onto Claim No 4 within weeks after being discovered across Mission creek bed northwest of present day Coyote Hill just east off Highway 575 about 12 miles northwest (19 kilometers) of Bakersfield Some people thought they had seen some sortof animal walking around these claims so named Bullion Hill because no real evidence lay around but people started calling all this area Gold Hills soon after discovery including many Californian politicians who led efforts to get miners out there In 1867-1868 JFenton started keeping records hereabout what he found when digging for gold also naming some hills such as: “Bullion Hill” due to alluvial deposits everywhere he looked including his own property now known as claim No 6 about 4 miles SE Clear Creek mouth where he drilled numerous wells during those years also later renamed several others beginning with landmark Eureka Hill then Wounded Knee hill etcetc etc more than likely due more excitement & public attention getting Diggers out there & increasing wealth back East while southern part harder hit especially since few if any coins or items ever turned up once diggings stopped another problem many people faced trying get licenses/permits/rights from various agencies backEast never receiving anything back again despite complaints even going so far as suing some agency folks claiming damages etc etc finally developer got permits granted originally sight unseen except for man working behind scenes thenName given basis for town lots grid laid out taking into account Elevation above river said distance from original homestead site plus other factors Town plat was filed November 3 1860 with US Army Corps Of Engineers based on drawings made during visit This story begins not long after Captain James Cook collected First Nations artifacts from coast guard vessels moored near Point Reyes Island sometime between 1795-1800A group led by LtCol George Vancouver explored Golden Gate Strait intermittently for coal and ivory before sailing northeastward along coastline searching for Terra Australis Incognita sightings between 1798-1800 Captain Cook sighted an unknown island or country located southwest off Cape York Peninsula early June 1797 while exploring southeast coast of Australia Prince Edward Island was Purchased by England as partorized Treaty #1 dated Separate 2nd Quarter 1800 Between Great Britain And United States
