La Canada Flintridge is one of several communities that were established along the Kern River during the early years of aviation. Before World War II, La Canada was home to both an airport and a Mock Trial Tournament site for students at Southern Californias University (SUSC). Today, however, only the school remains standing from when it functioned as an agricultural training center for local farmers before eventually becoming a residential area for civilians during World War II.
