Kingsburg is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,859 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of the Kern River, about north of Bakersfield and south of Rancho Cordova. Kingsburg was founded in 1873 by Captain John Kingsbury and his family as a trading post on the east bank of the Kern River. In 1886, it became a town when it was moved from its original location to its current site. The town name is derived from King's Ferry (now known as Kingsbury Bridge). Kingsburg has two public schools: Kingsburg High School and Kingsburg Junior-Senior High School. The community also operates one private school: Eastern Star Academy which serves students grades K-12th. The community has a variety of businesses including an auto dealership, an online store, and several small cafes/restaurants. There is also a large park called Kingsborough Park that includes a playground, basketball court, baseball diamond, soccer field and walking trail. The community has many cultural attractions such as art galleries, music venues and annual events like the Christmas parade which features local Santa Claus visitations throughout December

Kingsburg is a small town located in the Central Valley of California, about 36 miles east of Fresno and 25 miles south of Bakersfield. The population was 3,299 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno–Madera, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Kingsburg was Lorenzo Rodriguez, who arrived on July 7, 1847. He named his new settlement after King George III of England. In 1850 Chisholm came to Kingsburg from Oregon and homesteaded what is now the southeast corner of Main Street and East Seventh Avenue. A post office called Kingsburg was established in 1851, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1906. In 1860 Waddell came to Kingsburg from Sacramento with his family and founded a general store which still stands on South Fourth Street. Waddell later became mayor of Kingsburg and served from 1912-1915; he is also buried at Elmwood Cemetery near his home. In 1865 an American gold rush began in southern California and prospectors discovered large amounts of gold at the old Donner Gold Rush site west of present-day Kingsburg (now known as Madera). By 1870 there were over 100 mines operating in this area; many companies built towns around their operations such as Fillmore (1872), Moberly (1875), Enterprise (1876), Ashtonville (1879) etc., but it was not until 1892 that Kingsburgh became incorporated as a City by voters via Proposition 5 due to its proximity to Madera County seat(s). Kingsburg experienced significant growth during World War II when it became one of two localities within Madera County designated for military housing purposes; other communities were Fillmore and Manteca. In 1945-46 the United States government announced plans for the construction of airfields near Stockton so RAF Bentwaters could be moved away from Raton Field; however these plans were canceled when war ended without any significant results being accomplished beyond providing some military personnel with accommodations while they awaited discharge or re-employment opportunities. The next year saw much activity as several oil rigs began production offshore off our coast culminating with hydraulic fracturing activities starting up along Antelope Canyon starting on October 15th 2013 known locally as "fracking" mainly because noxious gas escaped during drilling which led to health concerns Amongst others this has caused water hammering[1]

In 2000, Kingsburg amalgamated with nearby Deltona to form the larger city of Deltona-Kingsburg.
