The Blackfoot River has been an important transportation corridor in Kingsbury since its discovery by Spanish exploration teams more than two hundred years ago. By 1847, Mexican settlers had arrived in present-day Kern County and began to establish ranching and farming operations along the riverbanks west of San Joaquin Valley settlements such as Stockton and Bakersfield where they collected watercourses for irrigation purposes from springs near Redding and Sacramento City . In 1876 George Washington Carver came across these early pioneers while exploring east-west routes through central California for railroads . After surveying present day Kern County he donated some land totaling 3 acres (1 ha) to form what would become known as “Carver Ranch” which lay adjacent to present day Kingsbury on mile long (later 2 miles) stretch of bluffs overlooking Blackfoot River

The reservation museum is open 10am-4pm Monday through Saturday and 9am-1pm Sunday; the mission is open daily except during national park closure periods from 6am to 4pm. Kingsburg has been home to several large companies over the years including Southern Pacific Railroad Company (1905), Western Electric Company (1920), Kaiser Aluminum Co., Incorporated (1936), TVA Corporation (1962), Owens Corning Glass Company (1966) and Monsanto Companies Incorporated (1975). Additionally, there have been a few small businesses that have made their mark in the community such as McDonald's hamburgers restaurants and Sleepy Hollows convenience store chain operated by Dave & Buster's restaurant locations throughout Kern County until 2003 when they closed all their stores nationwide due to tough economic times.
