Grant visited Northern California during his campaign for president, he stopped at Kingsbaugh's mines and gave them high marks for their operation; subsequently this helped make Kingsburgh one of Grant's favorite stops throughout his trip across America. In 1865–1866 Chauncy Maugham spent some time living with his family at Kingburgh before moving permanently to San Francisco two years later due to an outbreak of yellow fever there which he contracted from riding a horse out pasture near his home in Alameda County. After spending several months recuperating back home, Maugham returnedpacking through central and southern California before reaching San Francisco on July 27th 1870 aboard "SS Californian". Since its incorporation as a city in 1907, Kingsburg has experienced rapid growth; today it has over 40 businesses including banks and grocery stores within its boundaries and more than 100 residents employed within city limits alone (2010 Census). However despite continuing growth there are still some pockets of poverty prevalent among many minority groups: according to 2010 Census data%, African Americans make up 15% of the population but account for 30% of all jobless children under 5 years old while Hispanics make up 31% but represent only 13% overall workforce participation rate (Calaveras County Community Development Agency). The community currently experiences significant issues with gentrification which has had negative effects on local economy; recent examples include increased crime rates and displacement of informal settlers who have sex work legalized outside the country into lower-income areas adjacent to downtown where they experience violence and extortion from developers looking to build high-end housing developments featuring modern amenities such as gymnasiums or swimming pools – often displacing traditional low-income families who rely on these services for economic security entirely without any access or powerto fix or improve those facilities once they are constructed/leased/leased unto them by developers (Los Angeles Times).

As of 2000, Los Angeles County had a population (including its unincorporated areas) of 921,827 people—an increase over that number reported by Kingsburg during 2000 but still less than Humboldt County’s 1 million residents (.9%) combined!
