Kingsburg is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 3,956 as of the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of Kern County, about southeast of Bakersfield and east of Stockton. Kingsburg was platted in 1887 by George Kingsbury and named after his father-in-law, James A. Kingsbury. The first post office opened in 1888. In 1906, Kingsburg incorporated as a village and changed its name to Kingsburg in memory of its founders. In 1957, it became an unincorporated community again. The town has two schools: one public school and one private school. There are no hospitals or medical clinics within walking distance of the town limits; however, there is a hospital about 20 miles away in Bakersfield which provides services for the local community and patients from surrounding counties. Most residents work in nearby cities such as Bakersfield or Stockton; however, there are several farmers who operate crops on their own land near the town limits that provide employment for many locals during various seasons including wheat/corn/ammonia planting time around summertime when fruits and vegetables are available; also tomatoes can be picked during late fall through early winter months when they are at their peak production

The town also played host to several rounds of the United States Open Golf Championship between 1951 and 1957 (the first time it held this event outside Los Angeles). In addition, Kingsburg hosted several round robin events at nearby Tulare Lake from 1959 through 1966 (the last time these events were held there). In 1969–70 Kingsburg staged its own municipal election which resulted in incorporation into Fresno County as well as establishment of government services within the new county including zoning laws and highway maintenance. Today Kingsbury still refers to itself as being part of Fresno County but with increased ties to other parts of Southern California due to its location within range for both UCLA and USC football games as well As well as access to numerous International Airport connections like LAX and SFO.
