By 1930 census figures it had grown to over 100 residents but without any public buildings or schools! A fire destroyed many homes in January 1932 which started what would become known as one of OC’s oldest urban fires (the last being Loma Linda College campus arson in 1969) Some progress was made during 1933 when voters passed a $5 million bond issue that created both Anaheim Hills Park District #1 and Pleasant Grove Park District #2 – these districts later became key areas for social services with their own schools and parksharing programs administered by respective agencies today still represented therein! Finally on November 5th 1935 incorporation proceedings were held at City Hall with 153 signatures required to admit new cities into existence however only seventy two citizens registered so incorporation continued until May 3rd 1936 when Mayor O’Brien dissolved all local authorities effective September 16th because he felt that there had been no realignment or change since his election six months earlier! Development stalled for another five years until 1939 when World War II brought an increased demand for housing which helped spur building activity once again; this led to annexation by adjacent neighborhoods eastward from Ivar Street including Westminster Heights and widening arterial streets such as MacArthur Boulevard giving rise now to modern nightlife districts like Flower District & North Coast Plaza while also creating some newer areas such as University Village east side near Harbor Freeway! 1951 saw construction begin on Disneyland (openedto guests on October 15th), followed by Carson Pirie Scott Airport additions in 1957 & 1958 bringing airport-related development within easy commuting distance although traffic congestion persisted until 1965 when ValleyFair mall opened across Harbor Blvd from downtown making it easier still to get around town even during rush hours Art Deco styled buildings appeared along Stevenson Boulevard starting around 1960 while Koreatown grew up westside parallel To Ivar Street gradually integrating into business district becoming more upscale with high end stores like Saks Fifth Avenue opening there beginning in early 1970s following efforts spearheaded by Mayor Nichols (1970-1974) City services reached their peak during the late 1940s through 1950s due primarily to World War II veterans returning home who contributed goods & labor needed throughout various factories etc.; although tax collections did increase slightly thereafter they were still far below requirements set forth by state legislature pertaining thereto resulting in Councilman Howe initiating talks about secession from county beginning circa 1960 thru 1966 Meanwhile Port Huron began offering containerized transportation service between downtown & irvine via IvarStreet bypassing congestedValleyfairMall
Irvine was founded in 1892 by C.J. Irvine and his brothers, James and John Irvine. It became a city on December 12, 1893, when it was incorporated as part of the County of Orange. The city's first mayor was J.M. Nolan. In 1909, the City Council adopted an ordinance establishing a water supply system for Irvine and other towns in Orange County by purchasing land from the Santa Ana River Water Company. The City Council also authorized the erection of public buildings including a library and fire stations within three years of approval of plans submitted by engineers who recommended that such structures be built to meet needs for population growth, limited funds at hand, and rising temperatures which could lead to increased fires in rural areas adjacent to city limits
