Huntington Park is a city in San Joaquin County, California, United States. It is located on the banks of the Sacramento River. The population was 87,539 at the 2010 census. Huntington Park was founded in 1878 by Capt. George C. Armstrong and his wife as a ranching community near Stockton on the east side of the Sacramento River. The City of Huntington Park was incorporated in 1907 and became a full-time municipality in 1959. In 2000, it merged with El Sobrante to form the current City of San Joaquin Valley Unified School District (CVSJUSD). The history of Huntington Park goes back to 1878 when Captain George C Armstrong settled on what is now known as Armstrong Rancho de los Muertos just east of where present-day Huntington Park stands today. He named his new community after himself and his father General George Armstrong Jr., who had fought for American independence during the Mexican–American War (1846-48). In 1907, Captain Armstrong's grandson, Capt Manuel A Armendariz took over leadership of the community and continued to develop it into one of California's most vibrant agricultural communities with orchards, vineyards, cornfields, dairy farms and ranches that stretched from Stockton to Fresno and beyond. By 1959, all but two buildings in town were abandoned following World War II when people fled across the river for safety during then-new McCarthyism policies which targeted any individuals or groups suspected of being Communists or sympathizers with them. Even though many homes were never occupied again because so few people chose to return after war years’ disruption brought about by rationing and peacetime competition from rural areas just north of town (much like today),Armstrong Park has always been an important part of local culture – its residents often refer to themselves simply as "Fans." When Norris High School opened in 1965 within walking distance of both Armendariz Elementary School and Hansen Middle School – which served students until 1984 – school districts throughout western Contra Costa County followed suit by opening their own schools within easy reach for their students; ultimately resulting in more than double enrollment at Norris between 1970 and 1980 alone! With such rapid growth came also increased social tensions; one high school vandalism incident only made things worse before finally being solved through a$10K investigation spearheaded by then Mayor Chuck Yeager Jr.. In fact just this past year there have been multiple homicides reported within blocks or less range OF our city limits yet we still see no increase in violent crime? In 1911, after annexation by San Bernardino, Huntington Park became part of what is now known as Riverside County United States Federal Courthouse District #2 so that all court proceedings would take place in one location instead of scattered throughout the county seat cities like Claremont and Pomona. On July 1st 1951 all government entities within Riverside County were merged into one body under Mayor Ewing Ladd’s leadership when he took office following victory in a mayoral election campaign against challenger Arturo Sanchez Jr.. On February 12th 1984, both Claremont and Pomona residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of annexing their respective communities into Rialto which then became their own municipality separate from Riverside County despite having no say over municipal boundaries within that county anymore. Today there are still some pockets or neighborhoods within Huntington Park where distinctly Pasadena or Orange county specific dialects can be heard while other areas have become more Bay Area/San Francisco influenced due to recent arrivals such as high-tech workers and students who commute into Rialto daily for work or study purposes respectively

Huntington Park was originally located in San Francisco. In 1875, it was combined with the adjacentrubber works to form the Western Rubber Works. The company moved its headquarters to Huntington Park in 1907. In 1920, the Western Rubber Works merged with two other companies, the American Tire and Rubber Company and United States Steel Corporation, to form Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Goodyear reorganized its operations in 1934 as a subsidiary of Checkerboard Corporation. The company retired from manufacturing tires in 1984.
