I grew up just outside of Pasadena so I have a lot more personal experience with what it’s like when you have an annexed community nearby that wasn’t always completely integrated into your bigger city or town (as happened with Huntington Park). My parents were born and raised in Pasadena so they know all about that integration process – it wasn’t perfect but there was a sense that we were allCalifornians first and foremost! Despite this history however, most people here still think of themselves as “Pasadena locals” even though our community is just east of downtown on La Brea Avenue! Both my parents grew up attending local elementary schools which led them into their adulthood working within our larger city or town – I distinctly remember my Dad exclaiming one day while driving home from work that he finally knew where he lived! He had always thought he lived near Century Airport (now Dodger Stadium) but now he could see it from his driveway! No matter how much time I spend living hereabouts these days I can never really get away from feeling like an outsider – something which definitely doesn’t feel good when you live right next door to some high school friends who tell you all about their exciting adventures going on without giving a shred away...

The area was first populated by the Tongva people, who were Native Americans who lived in and around the area for over 10,000 years. They built their villages on hills overlooking the valley and hunted game with bows and arrows. By 1800, the Tongva had been pushed out of their home by settlers from New Mexico and California. In 1851, Huntington Park was established as a smallpox-ridden farming village. It remained a rural community until it became one of America's most popular tourist destinations during the early 1900s when it became known for its beautiful parklands, including The Huntington Park Golf Club and The Huntington Park Racetrack. The first post office in Huntington Park was opened in 1859. By 1870, there were over 100 residents living in Huntington Park. In 1878, an irrigation system was installed to provide water to the village from springs near present day Covina Heights. A school was built in 1888 and served as both a public school and religious center for local Tongva inhabitants until it burned down in 1902. A new school was built at what is now North Avenue and Westchester Drive within minutes of each other (the two schools are now part of John F Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum) which continued to serve as both a public school and religious center until 1959 when it closed due to budget cuts by then President Eisenhower himself. In 1911, The Huntington Park Golf Club was founded with $5,000 from Andrew Carnegie which would later become one of America's largest golf organizations with more than 2 million members across 46 countries worldwide In 1930, The Pasadena Playhouse located at 6951 Hollywood Boulevard opened its doors after being leased from Paramount Pictures In 1954-1955, Howard Hughes' movie studio relocated from Culver City to Huntington Park after purchasing land from Mr. Hearst On October 15th 1957 terrorist attacks took place on five landmarks throughout Los Angeles County resulting in death or damage totaling $2 million dollars worth of property includingleanor Roosevelt Presidential Library & Museum; Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum; de las Casas National Historical Monument; Regency Ballroom Hotel; Wilshire Boulevard Line
