In 1949, Winchester-scopemounting Incorporated changed its name to Winchester-Mayhews Components Corporation (Winchester). The company continued manufacturing scopeMounts until it was sold to Eotech Manufacturing Company in 1984.

Hollister, California is a small city in Sonoma County, California. The population was 12,383 at the 2010 census. It covers an area of just . Hollister's economy depends heavily on agriculture and ranching. The name "Hollister" is derived from two pieces of land which were adjacent to each other in 1853: Rancho San Joaquin and Rancho Hollister. In 1881, the town split off from nearby Petaluma and incorporated as a separate city. On July 14, 1915, Hollister became an official U.S. municipality after it ratified a resolution by the United States Congress recognizing its status as a City of Agriculture with jurisdiction over all agricultural interests within its borders without giving away any property or rights to others. On February 3, 2002 the City Council approved Resolution No. 09-00 establishing the Hollister Innovation Campus which would house research and development activities for various technology companies operating in Sonoma County including Apple Inc., Intel Corporation (Intel Core i7), NVIDIA Corporation (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti), Oracle Corporation (Oracle Solaris 11/i586) and Hewlett-Packard Co., Lp (HP Pavilion dv6000). The campus will be located on 10 acres east of downtown Hollister next to El Camino Real Road and Highway 7

On October 3, 1921, the US military issued a regulation that allowed for the universal mounting of rifles on tanks. This was accomplished by issuing a directive called "Regulations Governing the Maintaining and Operating of Tanks" which stated that all tanks were required to have a mount for a rifle. The first tank to be equipped with this mount was the T-34/5E1.
Hollister is a small town in the Central Valley of California, United States. The population was 1,499 at the 2010 census. Hollister is located east of Fresno and north of Bakersfield. It is bordered to the south by Kings Canyon National Park and to the west by Kern County. The first Europeans to visit what is now Hollister were French missionaries in 1769. In 1835, prospectors discovered gold and silver in the area, triggering an explosion in population that led to incorporation as a city on November 14, 1849. The original downtown core still stands today with two blocks of commercial buildings between Main Street and Third Avenue. For many years Hollister was known for its fruit crops such as grapes, apples, pears, apricots and plums; it also produced hay, oats and other agricultural products until more recently when there has been little significant economic activity in the community. During World War II Hollister served as one of six military airfields used by Hollywood movie production crews flying over Southern California during filming at nearby North Hollywood Airport. Today some remnant evidence can be seen including the remains of an airfield taxiway which runs parallel to Main Street just east of Academy Road/Highway 99W (now Interstate 5). In addition several large hangar structures remain from this time period across from Academy Road/Highway 99W near what is now a shopping center (the former site of Topaz Mall). On October 2nd 1957 Hollister played host to a UNLV football game against Brigham Young University Neil Armstrong attended as a guest player for his graduating class at UNLV South Campus before halftime play had ended when he became first human onto another world!
Hollister was founded in 1849 by the brothers Orville and Wilbur Hollister. The town was named after them because of the high quality of their cotton crops. The Hollisters were early settlers in what is now southern California, and they developed a successful dry goods business. In 1871, they moved to northern California and started a cotton farming operation. They also became involved in other businesses, such as insurance and real estate. In 1915, the Hollisters sold their property in nearby Menifee to build a new home complex called Hollister Hills.
