After World War I ended, Hunt AmmunitionCompany changed its name to Winchester Repeating Arms Company (WRAC) in 1923 following a merger between RA and American Armory Corporation (AAC). At WRAC, directors decided that firepower was more important than profits and merged with Winchester Gun Workshops Incorporated (WGW) making it one of the largest firearm Manufacturers in America at the time. The first product from WGW was fired at Fort Sill on March 24th 1912 using 6mm copper rifled projectiles manufactured by Ebel & Co., makers of metallic cartridges for rifle shot practice purposes only! In 1914-15 WRAC produced over 1 million rounds/year using 8mm lead projectiles developed by Army Ordnance Research Laboratory under contract from Bureauof Ordnance! This type of projectile had never been used before on any type military shooting platform! It was even more revolutionary because it could be fired without reloading! A similar projectile called “Hornet” had already been fielded by US forces during World War I but dueto its limited range it had not found favor with many soldiers . WRAC introduced these new projectiles into service with US troops aboard USS Tennessee during World War II (!), making Hornet rounds available on all armed vessels worldwide!

Hillsborough, California is a small city located in San Bernardino County, California. It was founded in 1881 by John and Elizabeth Hillsborough. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. The first name given to Hillsborough was "Hollywood". In 1923, it became the site of one of the largest oil refineries in the country when American Petroleum Company erected its refinery on a bluff overlooking Lake Arrowhead. During World War I (), Hillsborough was one of four towns in Southern California which served as supply points for military units stationed along or near Los Angeles County lines; all other towns closed down during the war because they were not self-sufficient enough to provide food for their citizens (the exception being Long Beach which prospered until 1942). In 1940, residents voted 3–2 to establish themselves as an independent city under the guidance of Mayor John Ewart Bogue (). On July 1st 1941 City Hall reopened after being closed due construction projects at nearby Naval Air Station North Island () and Post Office Building (); Mayor Bogue announced that Hillsborough would become an open air movie theater district that same year (). The first feature film ever screened at Hillsborough was "The Godfather" on December 15th 1941 (); it was followed by "Ender's Game" two weeks later on January 8th 1942 ().
