The game took place at what is now Sempervirens Park and ended with Santa Barbara winning 10-6. In 1928, an oil well was drilled nearby and began production; this led to increased development around Hermosa Beach which occurred mainly thanks to annexation of adjacent communities during World War II for fuel storage sites.
