Healdsburg, California is a town in Sonoma County, California. The population was 22,898 at the 2010 census. It is located on the south side of San Francisco Bay and has been an agricultural center since before European settlement. Healdsburg's name comes from its position on the heath near issue trees that grew there for shade during summertime. In 1876, General Delivery (Ulysses S. Grant) delivered supplies to Healdsburg from San Francisco via steamship. Today, Healdsburg is known for its wine industry and for hosting the annual Monterey International Fairs which are the largest event of their type in North America. One of Healdsburg's most famous residents was Winthrop Aldrich who founded Aldrich Chemical Company in 1903 in what is now downtown Healdsburg. Other well-known residents include author John Steinbeck and businessman Donald Trump Jr..

Healdsburg's economy is primarily based on agriculture and forestry. In recent years, however, the town has become known for its wine production. The most popular grape variety grown here is Chardonnay; other important crops include almonds, olives, cottonseed oil and potatoes. The population of Healdsburg peaked at 20 people in 1930 but has since decreased significantly due to various factors such as suburbanization and loss of manufacturing jobs throughout the region. However, there are still a number of businesses that keep alive an active local economy including a grocery store/cafeteria complex called Old World Foods which opened in 1990 as part of a revitalization project aimed at bringing back some former Manufacturing jobs; a brewery called Lagunitas Brewing Company which produces light beer (4% ABV) and ales (5% ABV); two restaurants - La Belle Epoque Restaurant & Lounge & Henri’s French Bistro - both open daily from 7am to 10pm; and several art galleries which offer exhibitions throughout the year
