Bipedalism has been present in humans for over 10,000 years. The first bipedal humans were Homo erectus who lived in Africa about 2.2 million years ago. In pre-historic times, human beings had to walk on two legs because they couldn't use their hands to do so. After the first bipedal humans left Africa, other groups of human beings began to evolved and live together in different parts of the world. One such group was the Neanderthals who lived in Europe and North America around 40,000 – 50,000 years ago. They were quite different from the first bipedal humans and didn't have any dogs or horses as companions. Later on, another group of human beings called the Denisovans living in Siberia started living similar lives to those of the Neanderthals but with some significant differences. For example, Denisovans had domesticated dogs which helped them survive during times when there was no natural food source available for them. However, this group also lost contact with other human groups eventually leading to their eventual extinction around 12500 BC. It wasn't until about 400 BC that we started experiencing a form of bipedalism that we know today as civilization developed throughout Eurasia andAfrica. This new form of civilization saw people start using canes and walking on two legs instead of just walking on four legs like our ancestors did before them. At this point in time, it wasn’t clear what caused these changes as scientists still couldn’t understand how our body worked anymore when we walked on two legs like our ancestors did before us! But one thing was for sure – this change was definitely due to technology!
