In recent years, Hawaiian Gardens has become one of central locations for events such as Kona Bowls - a collegiate bowl game that takes place at Raymond James Stadium - kite flying contests during Kaua'i Loa Weekend (an event celebrating Hawaiʻian culture), arts & crafts shows during Christmas week, summer concerts throughout the year including July 4th fireworks displays over Diamond Head Coliseum followed by live music nightly in multiple venues throughout town, bicycle racing during Māori Weekends at Kalakaua Race Track adjacent to town center
