Airguns have been used in Hawaiian Gardens for over a century. For many people, the first airgun was an old rifle or shotgun that they borrowed from their friends or family. In the early 1900s, there were only a few airgun clubs in Hawaii Gardens. As new guns became available, club members borrowed them from others and started shooting at various local shoots and tournaments. With the increase in popularity of airguns in Hawai Gardens, several Airgun Clubs were formed throughout the 1920s. These clubs helped promote gun safety and hunting opportunities for locals as well as providing a place where people could come together to shoot some easy targets. In 1928, Hawaiian Garden’s first shooting range opened its doors to the public. This range was designed specifically for training new shooters on how to use pistols and rifles using live ammunition. It is interesting to note that this range did not exist until after World War II when a number of businesses started opening up around town that allowed citizens to buy guns without having to go through rigorous background checks By 1938, there were three Airgun Clubs operating in Hawaiian Gardens: The American Pistol Club (API), The Gunsmith’s Association of America (GAA), and theHawaiian Garden Rifle & Pistol Club (HGRPC). API had been founded earlier that year by Leland Soret who worked at Kukui Electric Company on Kaua'i Island where he developed an interest in handguns while working on his engineer's degree at UC Berkeley GAA was established on December 2nd 1918 by Captain Harry Aiken who served with distinction during World War I as an artilleryman with Company E 24th Infantry Regiment stationed at Kaneohe Bay HGRPC was organized on February 26th 1934 by Edwin Wetherald who owned and operated Wetherald Sporting Goods store located near Eastern Avenue between Pahoa Road and Kuilua Street

The first residents were mostly Hawaiians, but soon there were also other Pacific Islanders and Latinos living there as well. Hawaii Gardens developed around two golf courses, one of which still bears its original name - Hana Pointe Country Club. Other businesses included a grocery store, a post office and an auto dealership. After annexation many businesses moved out but some retained includingThe Wailea Inn which still operates today as one of Honolulu's most popular hotels

Hawaii Gardens was established in 1887 and became a city in 1945. It is the county seat of Santa Clara County. The area now known as Hawaii Gardens was first inhabited by Polynesian Hawaiians who lived there between 1100 and 1300 AD. The area became part of Spanish land grants to Captain José Narváez on December 10th, 1791. The first European to visit the islands was Don Francisco de la Rúa on September 25th, 1793 with his squadron of four ships named "Santa Cruz". He estimated that there were over 100 people living on Kaua'i when he visited it. There are no contemporary accounts or maps that document Hawaiian gardens until after 1800 AD when an American military force under Commodore John Stevens discovered them while exploring Kaua'i for potential sugar plantations during the Napoleonic Wars. In 1887, developer James Wickersham purchased 5 acres (20,000 m²) of undeveloped land near what is now Kihei Avenue in Hawaii Gardens from Captain José Narváez for $2,000USD In 1889 he began construction on what would become Wickersham's homeand estate today – called “Hanauma Bay” – which still stands today and overlooks Hanauma Bay National Wildlife Refuge. After many years of hard work and dedication by Wickersham and his family, their home finally opened to the public in 1945 as Honolulu's first municipally-owned shopping center complete with a movie theater and several restaurants including Waikiki's famous Kapiʻolani Hotel (now known as Ala Moana Center). Today, Hawaii Gardeners continue to live hereabouts with their families while also enjoying many cultural activities such as arts and crafts shows at Haleleʻi Park; playing mahjongg or Mahjongg dens at Laukahi Village; fishing trips off Kīlauea Volcano; taking walks through Kuaupapa State Park; attendingule Kongala religious services at Kapoho Valley Church…all within easy reach via HI-Speed Internet access from anywhere in North America! Hawaii Gardens was founded in 1887 by the Kaua'ihene family. It was originally a small plantation, with about thirty acres of land. The Kaua'ihene family ran the garden for many years, until it became an open-air extension of their home. In 1924, Hawaii Gardens became part of the United States and opened to the public as a national park. The garden is still run by the Kaua'ihene family.
