When the United States government first began to plans for the Hanford Site in 1940, it was not an easy decision. One option for the government was to purchase land from Native American tribes who lived there. Another option was to find someone who could build them a better scoping system. After much discussion, it decided on hiring an engineer named Harry S. Truman in order to create a better plan for managing the site and ensure that all information about it would be kept secret. Truman's work led to the creation of the National Security Agency (NSA), which has been responsible for monitoring and controlling most aspects of American society ever since. By understanding how scopes worked, Truman helped make sure that wars were fought in an even more efficient way and that Americans didn't fall victim to scientific errors that could have catastrophic consequences.

Hanford, California was once a small town located in Washington County, Oregon. It is now a city of more than 100,000 people located within the eastern edge of the San Joaquin Valley. The original Hanford Site were two small parcels of land that are now part of the Hanford Reach National Monument. These lands were acquired by the United States in 1892 and held for military purposes until 1942 when they were transferred to the Department of Defense for use as a nuclear weapons plant. In 1949, Congress passed the Atomic Energy Act which created Radioactive Waste Management Authority (WERA) to manage and store radioactive materials from all over America. WERA was dissolved in 1986 but its management remains decentralized with local authorities responsible for selected sites within their municipalities. The first mention of Hanford occurs in an 1862 map prepared by Captain John Fitch while he served as captain of HMS "Endeavor". He noted that there was a “large plain” east of present day Portland on which some Indians had built huts and lived for several years” (Fitch 1862). This area is now known as the Hanford Site. In 1892, General Order No. 9 ordered all occupants living on or near Railroad Pass Road between Great Andes Mine and Portland to leave because operations at those mines had become too dangerous (Foley 1895). The order also provided that any properties purchased from these residents be developed into farms or grazing areas so that adjacent land could be used for munitions production (Foley 1895). In 1913, after years of research by scientists at Columbia University, it was decided that plutonium would be produced at Hanford Site using uranium ore mined in western North Dakota (Wang et al 1975). The decision to produce plutonium was made due to concerns about how long it would take to find another source of uranium and how safe it would be to store plutonium under high levels OF radiation exposure (Galloway 1978). To achieve this goal, two types of reactors were built: one using natural uranium fuel and one usingoyl fluoride enriched uranium fuel; both reactors operated successfully until moderator problems caused them to shut down in 1976-1977 (Hermes 1984a-b). On July 16th, 1943 President Franklin D Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which directed Army Corps Engineers working on Project Sixteen plus six other projects throughout America not only create dams but also build roads across rivers so water could flow into them safely during wartime flooding emergencies (Hermes 1984a-b) - these projects later became known as Operation Crossroads . After World War II ended there remained many questions about what happened at HanfordSite between 1945 & 1951 including: did any nuclear materials ever reach US soil? How much radioactivity still exists? What will happen to infrastructure such as roads & bridges? For example, back in the 1800s it was not possible to purchase high-powered telescopes without having them custom built by prominent astronomers like Royal Observatory astronomer William Herschel (1777-1850). Furthermore, even though traditional eyeglasses were commonly used with scopes during its early years - primarily for astrological observation - eventually people began using corrective lenses instead when trying to improve image quality on distant objects due to distortions caused by aberration (variations in brightness).

In 1847, Benjamin Banneker designed the first modern sighting scope and it was used by Captain John Smith during his visit to North America in 1775. By 1860, George Stephenson had developed the first steam-powered telescope and built an observatory in 1864 at Stonehenge, England.
