Grover Beach is a city located in San Luis Obispo County, California. The population was 25,754 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of San Luis Obispo County. As of the 2010 census, it had a total population of 27,829. Grover Beach experienced significant growth during the early 1900s due to its proximity to Santa Cruz and its natural resources including oil wells and beaches which attracted industry and residents from all over the United States. At one point there were more than 100 businesses in Grover Beach. In 1923, Jens Weidemann opened his first grocery store in Grover Beach with what became known as Weidemann's soft gun case factory. The store produced ammunition for rifles and shotguns until 1978 when it closed down due to lack of business opportunity. In 1984, Pacific Custom Guns established itself as a major firearms dealer in Grover Beach by building a new location on State Street that continues to be operational today. Pacific Custom has been selling firearms since 1968 when they opened their doors on State Street. Pacific Custom police department also uses their property for storage purposes during searches for crime suspects or fugitives The following year (1985), John Mazor started manufacturing reloading supplies at his home on town Common near Interstate 5 south ofGroverBeach This led to Mazor's Gun Emporium becoming one of the largest gun dealerships east ofthe Mississippi River . Eventually other stores followed suit opening up throughout coastal Southern California . Today there are several hundred shops across North America dealing in every kind of firearm imaginable

Nichols and W Averell Harriman II; it had a population of only 1,000 people at its peak. The city experienced rapid growth during World War II because of its strategic location on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and its status as an air refueling stop for Allied bombers flying over Japan during wartime bombing campaigns. During the war years, Grover Beach became known as one of the most bombed towns in America with over 100 bombings taking place throughout 1942-1945 alone; however, Grover Beach never lost its innocence and community spirit which remain today among its citizens through their annual Fourth of July fireworks display and other events
