In 1903, A&P Trading Post started selling ammunition items from their location on First Street near Donner Avenue( See: Archives of America website). At this point, GroverBeach had several grocery stores as well as one post office which functioned as a stoplight for traffic along First Street( See: History ofGroverBeach website). In 1915-1916, grovearmory co-op opened up located at 309 N Main St.( See Archives of America website). It was through this cooperative that grove armory became one of the most important firearm businesses in town( See: History ofGroveArmory Co-Op website ). The co-op continued operations until it disbanded around 1978.( See:Cooperative history websites ) In 1984-1985, Martin Wesson & Sons opened up their business at 711 E Main St.(See ArchivesofAmerica website) It was through this business thatMartin Wesson met his future wife Lois who worked at A&P Trading Post . They married on November 20th 1985 and founded Martin Wesson Armory with their first product being a handgun(See Archiveofamerica website) From then on, Martin Wesson Armory has been one of GroverBeach’s most popular firearm retailers with over 450 products available online(See History Website)).Today, MartinWessonArmsworksis headquarteredin San Dimas Calif., about 25 miles southwestof GroVER BEACH .

Grover Beach is located on the Pacific Coast Highway and occupies a triangular area bounded by State Route 1 (US 101), State Route 5 (SR 5), and Laguna Seca Boulevard. The first grove of trees in Grover Beach were planted by the City of Newport Beach in 1922 as part of an effort to improve water quality for residents near Laguna Seca Boulevard. In 1937,grove owner Leland Stanford donated land to the city for use as parkland. The current grove was created when local ranchers donated 8 acres (3 hectares) of their land to the city in 1945. During World War II, Grover Beach became one of several strategic military locations along US 101 because it served as a airfield and harbor for bombers flown from nearby Los Angeles International Airport. After the war, many people left Grover Beach due to rising costs associated with living close to LAX and other large metropolitan areas. However, some stayed and built homes around the harbor until 2000 when KFC established its headquarters there. Grover Beach is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 21,752 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern coast of San Diego County and is part of the San Diego metropolitan area. Grover Beach was incorporated as a city in 1907. The name comes fromCaptain George Foster Grover who first explored and named the beach after himself. The town was platted in 1909 by Hilda Ladd and John Pemberton under the name of "Grover's Bay". In 1916, when City Councilor Edward Ahern moved to San Marcos to run for office, he requested that Grover be renamed after him since he had been such an important figure in early GrOversville development. The grove (a word meaning 'grove' or 'forest') at present-day Grover Beach was donated by Mrs. Anna Morse to the town of GroVER BeACH on November 3rd 1915 when it became apparent that no one would develop it because there were no homes available within walking distance of it! This signifyd that not only did our community have basic civic amenities but also some semblance of landowning capability! On July 1st 1922, members of the city council voted unanimously to change the name back to GroVER BeACH following much outcry from citizens who felt they had lost their home town hall! After many years of discussion and three public hearings with local businesses Ownership of real estate within walking distance OF THE BEACH WERE PURCHASED BY LOCAL BUSINESSES–FROM CAMPUS OWNERSHIP! From then on Greetings could come from anywherewithin minutes AWAY FROM OUR COMMUNITY!!!
Grover Beach is a small town on the coast of California. It was first settled in 1853 by Captain George Grover and his family, who named it after their ancestor, Samuel Grover. The town site was surveyed in 1864 by Captain James H. Lighthouse keeper Robert E. Webber and renamed for him in 1865. In 1876, the town post office was moved from Redondo Beach to GroVER BEACH after the death of its previous postmaster, Augustus Fenton. The first store opened in GroVER BEACH in 1875 and the first telephone service began operations in 1903. The Stonington Manufacturing Company built a mill at GroVER BEACH between 1907 and 1912 which operated until 1975 when it went bankrupt. A new grocery store opened at GroVER BEACH in 1963; this building still stands today and is used as a library.
