Today there remains evidence that once upon a time Municipal Airport serviced not just Goleta but also parts of unincorporated Alameda County including Belmont Shoreline Drive and portions of El Sobrante Peninsula adjacent to present day Fremont; however this remnant can be found only within walking distance from modern day downtown GOLETA proper on Pico Boulevard between Third Street and Fourth Street; making today's Municipal Airport largely inaccessible to locals or tourists alike without special access permissions or driving directions through current municipal government hands
