The following year saw another significant event when President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered his famous "New Deal" speech here which led to increased business activity within the city as well as new housing developments being built nearby. From 1951-1955, Glendora was host to the United States Olympic Committee's summer games which brought attention to the city and its citizens alike. Since 1990, Glendale has been home to downtown Los Angeles' only theme park - Hollywood Forever Cemetery - making it one of only a few cities located entirely within Los Angeles County (the others are Inglewood, Hawthorne Heights and Carson). Additionally, Hollywood Boulevard still winds through downtownGlendale making it one of LA’s most popular tourist destinations with multiple restaurants and bars lining both sides of Historic Hollywood Boulevard itself
