Gardena, California is home to one of the most extensive optical accessory industries in the United States. The city was founded in 1887 by two brothers, George and Walter Gardena, who opened a general store on First Street. Over time, the Gardena Optical Merchants Association (GOMA) emerged as an important voice in the industry and developed a strong local presence. In 1951, GOMA partnered with RCA Victor to create the first commercial television broadcast from Los Angeles. As television viewership grew increasingly diverse, so too did the demand for specialized optical equipment and supplies. The GOMA became a leading player in this market and soon began releasing its own line of products called "The Gora Line." The Gora Line featured high-quality components and accessories designed specifically for television use. By the early 1970s, GOMA had become an internationally respected brand with products available in more than 20 countries. By 1990, GOMA was experiencing rapid growth and had expanded its operations into multiple locations throughout California. At that point, it decided to move its headquarters from Gardena to Riverside County's Corona del Rey facility in order to better serve both its customers and its expanding global market. However, despiteGOEMA's efforts to modernize their product lines and remain competitive within their industry, sales at Corona del Rey declined over time due primarily to technological advancements which made television production more efficient and costlier than ever before. In 1998, GOAMA announced plans to relocate their entire business once again - this time permanently - but fate had other plans: Corona del Rey refused to closure; instead they prevailed upon GOEMA management team to begin development of a new $30 million building that would house all of GOEMA's administrative functions as well as future expansion Plans for Riverside County were shelved indefinitely after public outcry motivated by corona del roya's blatant disregard for municipal regulations pertaining thereto; individual members of Goema Executive Board then voted unanimously not renewing our lease when it expired on November 1st 1999 Today there are no active businesses left operate under either name outside OfRiverside CA... This is without any doubt one of THE saddest things about life today... It used TO be so much more fun!

Gardena, California is a small city in Kern County, California. The population was 8,792 at the 2010 census. Gardena is located on the eastern edge of Kern County and is bordered by661 acres (246 hectares) of agricultural land to the north and east, and by the cities of Bakersfield and Pershing Heights to the south. The first European settler in what became Gardena was W. H. Mason in 1879. In 1902 there were just 12 residents in Gardena when it incorporated as a city under the name of Modesto. The next year Modesto changed its name to Gardena after then- Mayor Averell Harriman's wife from New York City named gardenia after this location in her native Italy. By 1907 there were over 100 residents living in Gardena with a combined income of $4,824 per capita ($128,000 today). In 1916 Gertrude Jethro Blount donated 600 acres (247 hectares) of land near present day Park Boulevard and San Fernando Boulevard to become what is now downtown Gardena. There were no public schools or stores within walking distance so many citizens attended local church services which were held at nearby rural Macon Ranch until 1911 when construction began on what would become Valley View Elementary School which opened its doors on October 1st that year. On January 1st, 1947 Valley View Elementary School was enlarged with an addition for grades kindergarten through eighth grade known as Valley View Junior High School which served students from grades nine through twelve until 1973 when it was replaced by Renaissance High School which still serves students today! Gardena experienced some growth during World War II with Japanese Americans being interned here during 1942-1945 due to fears they may be used as war material or spies by their captors! On September 15th 1945 all Japanese people living inside the City limits were ordered Evacuated without giving any notice to anyone! This led to many gardens becoming vacant as many residents had nowhere else to go! As these Internment Gardens emptied many veterans moved into these vacated homes including Al Jourdain who purchased 1099 Topanga Avenue from Mrs Joanne Moriarty for $680 also known as Mount Vernon Place before moving into his current home on November 15th 1945! It should be noted that Mr Jourdain never relinquished ownership of this home until he sold it in 1978!! Because much of downtown Gardena remains essentially unaltered since post-war days there has been some speculation about possible redevelopment plans for this area – especially given current economic conditions – but so far no definitive plans have surfaced making development seem less likely than ever before! One popular option being considered is turning part of Topanga Avenue into a pedestrian mall complete with restaurants, cafes, movie theaters and more.– [1]

The area that today makes up Gardena was first populated by Mono and Pima Indians who hunted and fished in the local rivers and streams. In 1848, after Californios won their independence from Mexico, they began to settle in this region. A post office was established in 1851, and by 1865 there were over 100 residents living here. The town's name comes from José Gabriel García Márquez's novel of the same name. García Márquez lived here for many years before moving to Mexico City in 1967. Gardena has experienced significant growth since its incorporation as a city in 1968 - it now has a population of over 12,000 people. Many of the town's current attractions date back to when it became an incorporated municipality: Gardena Playground was built in 1969; The Josefina Zamora Library opened in 1974; and the John Skelton School District completed its new building on Park Avenue in 1978. Today, Gardena is one of the most diverse cities within Los Angeles County - with a population range that includes upper-middle class retirees, college students, working professionals, low-income families and Hispanics/ Latinos who are descendants of Mexican immigrants who arrived here during or after World War II. It is also home to two major league baseball teams - the Dodgers (founded here) and the Angels (owned by Angelenos). Together these teams have generated more than $3 billion worth of economic activity within Los Angeles County alone since 1998! Although originally settled primarily for hunting and fishing opportunities near local rivers and streams, much of what makes Gardena special today was developed through annexation by other municipalities over time: The original Town Hall Building was erected on land annexed from El Cajon about 1900; The golf course opening at nearby Arcadia Mesa Golf Club around 1915 helped establish Gardena as one of Greater Los Angeles’s leading communities for boating; Stonington Elementary Schoolopened adjacent to Arcadia Mesa Golf Club around 1955; Western Electric Company erected its largest electric substation west of Chicago – now known asCity National Bank Tower – on Monsanto Road east of I-10 about 1960;and finally Royce Street becoming streetsignalized along with Center Boulevard joining Artesia Boulevard soon thereafter
Gardena was founded by George A. White in 1887 as a small agricultural town in the San Joaquin Valley. The town grew rapidly due to its natural resources, and in 1906 Gardena became an incorporated city. In 1961, Gardena was merged with neighboring Redding to form the current metropolitan area.
