Gardena, California is a city located in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. It was founded in 1887 by brothers Charles and David Gardena. The city's name comes from the Palos Verdes Hills, which are located within its boundaries. As of the 2010 census, Gardena had a population of 73,872. The City of Gardena was incorporated on February 14, 1916. The first gun target in Gardena was created at Park Pointe Park by George Henniker and Sons. This target served as a training ground for new officers and their families until World War II when targets were moved to Fort MacArthur National Military Park. In 1951, guns were moved back to Park Pointe Park where they remain today. From 1925-1959, NRA member Barney Frank enjoyed free access to Fort MacArthur National Military Park's target range for practice with his rifle and pistols. From 1959-1971, NRA member Bob Kapp organized annual Gun Camps at Fort MacArthur which attracted over 100 participants from throughout Southern California each summertime! These campfires that took place near Ft MacArthur have come to be known as "Gun Camp Saturday" because it is the day before any other event at the park occurs! In 1978-1979 an organization called "The Eagle" won an award from the San Gabriel Valley Chamber of Commerce for excellence in outdoor programming including event/golf tournaments; muzzleloading rifles demonstrations; cooking demos; country music concerts; arts & crafts exhibits (including quilt making); kids' play areas; etc., all outdoors under one roof! They continue this program today with similar amenities like camping without electricity or running water - perfect for those who love nature but don't want to leave their campsite!

The city has since been experiencing rapid growth due to its location near Highway 101 and other commercial corridors; although there are some concerns about gentrification and displacement within the city boundaries caused by this growth hugeness; nonetheless, overall sentiment towards Gardena remains supportive despite these challenges.
