Gun grips have a long and varied history in Gardena, California. From the common blacksmith grip to the exotic design of the French hunter's grip, there are many different types of gun grips available today. This paper will focus on the history of the gardena shooting sports club's traditional blacksmith grip, which has been used by members for over sixty years. The Blacksmith Grip originated in Gardena in 1951. At that time, the shooting sports club was founded as a means to promote rifle and handgun shooting among its members. At first, only men were allowed to join the club, but soon enough it became open to all interested individuals interested in being able toshoot firearms. The original blacksmith grip was designed by Club President Frank Journell and is still in use today at our club. The grip is made from heavy-grip hides that are carefully prepared and then hand-forged into a sturdy piece of jewelry. The resulting firearm handle is well-suited for both left or right handed shooters and comes complete with an integrated sling swivel studs and safety catch system. Today, our traditional blacksmith grip remains firmly entrenched as one of our most popular shotgun handles around town! It is easy to hold and provides great control when firing your shotgun; making it perfect for those who enjoy using shotguns for hunting purposes or target practice. Gardena, California is a city in Los Angeles County, California. It is located on the eastern edge of the San Fernando Valley and has a population of about 120,000 as of 2010. Gardena was first settled in 1871 by Mormon missionaries from Salt Lake City. The city became an agricultural center during the early years of its existence, with citrus production being the mainstay. In 1924, Gardena annexed parts of neighboring Montebello and Northridge to form a new city. In 1932, Gardena annexed part of Hawthorne to become a second city. The annexation created yet another municipality within Los Angeles County with no central government or police force responsible for both cities. However, this arrangement lasted only until 1965 when Hawthorne was itself annexed by Pasadena.

The first post office in Gardena opened on November 6, 1848. The town grew rapidly due to its location at an important wagon road connecting Los Angeles with Las Vegas and other nearby towns. By 1870, Gardena had become a major city with over 10,000 residents. During World War II, Gardena became one of the most heavily bombed cities in the United States because of its strategic location as a transportation hub between Los Angeles and Nevada City. Many homes were destroyed or damaged in the bombing raids that took place throughout 1942 and 1943. However much has changed sinceCaptainJohnSutterFoundedGardenacity seventy years ago - here is a brief overview of some key aspects about this historically significant community: In 1861 A large irrigation project was started by Colonel Charles Mather who shipped water from Spring Valley northward through Canoga Park then downriver to Santa Maria delivered by horse drawn wagons hauled by oxen to Drinkwater's Ranch (now known as east Riverside Drive) along what is now North Fourth Street in downtown Gardena where he built his large brick farm house now part of State Route 56 (now Interstate 5). In 1878 two brothers named Elliot & Harry Ladd organized a company to build water power plants on Atchee Creek south of present day Lancaster Avenue/Pinecrest Road near where future Pasadena would be established just over 30 years later. They named their new plant "Ladd’s Electric Company" but soon realized that they were too far from any electric generating stations so they changed their name to "Gardena Electric Company" which still stands today! Their first turbine engine was installed in 1886 which generated electricity for use within their own home gardens using 4 HP steam engines! Today you can see evidence of this early history at various locations around town including GECC’s old turbine engine building on North Fourth Street across from City Hall also used as an art gallery during prohibition days! In 1913 there was another big change when Eastern Electric Railway Co., successor to Ladd’s Electric Company began providing service into downtown Gardena directly from eastern Riverside Drive via what is now Pioneer Boulevard! This provided all sorts of businesses with access to potential customers who would come into town during lunchtime or evening hours! Downtown Gardena quickly became quite busy becoming perhaps more commercial than residentialdue mostlyto Eastern Electric Railway Co.'s continued services intotownfromRiverside DRIVE!). A few more changes followed before finally becoming incorporated as a city in 1922 with an population exceeding 10,000 people!!! Today we enjoy many wonderful amenities offered by our growing city government such as streets named after historical figures like Mayor David Alvarez (1926-present), former Deputy Mayor Carlos Valdez (1996-2015), Councilmember Janice Hahn (2014-present), Assistant City Manager Jeff Kappelman (2013-present) and many others!! We also continue to experience rapid growth thanks largely to our successful annexation process completed last year making us one very active city government!!
The Gardena area dates back to the early 1800s when Rancho San Francisco was granted to Father Junipero Serra. The area became a stop on the California Gold Rush because of its fertile land and rich mineral deposits. In 1851, the first post office was established in Gardena. By 1865, the population had grown to over 4,000 people and by 1888, it had reached 10,000 people. A large textile factory was built in 1915 and continues to operate today as a defense contractor. Gardena is located near Los Angeles County's largest city of Los Angeles and is home to many high-technology companies such as Intel Xeon Processor Laboratories and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). According to 2010 census data, Gardena has a total population of 31,512 residents.
