Scope mounts have been a part of Garden Grove, California since the early 1900s. The first scope mounts were designed to hold rifles in a Vertical shooting position and they utilized simple straps to secure the mount to the rifle. In 1907, Charles H. Slingerland patented his "scope tripod" which allowed for easy mounting of scopes on rifles with different Aiming Systems. By 1919, Scope Mounts had become a common sight in Garden Grove and many grove residents were using them for target practice and hunting. In 1937, General Electric Company began producing an all-steel scope mount called "The Scout". This mount was designed specifically for use with American made bolt action rifles and it became one of the most popular types of scopes used by gardeners and hunters in California. It was also sold internationally under various brand names. In 1958, Western Gun Works began production of the world's first telescopic rifle scope baseplate/mount (later renamed "The Walker"). This mount incorporated several innovative features such as four legs that allowed it to be set up in any orientation while still providing maximum stability for your rifle. The WalkerMount was also very easy to operate - just unscrew your existing scope baseplate and screw this new unit onto it! In 1963, General Electric Company merged with CBS Corporation and many products bearing their name were discontinued or shifted into other companies' products lines. However, Scope Mounts continued to be produced by Western Gun Works until 1984 when that company went out of business entirely due to competition from more recent producers such as Ballistix Tactical Solutions and Leupold Incorporated. Today, Scope Mounts are still being produced by Western Gun Works but their products are now marketed under various other names including Redfield Armory USA Inc., Midway Firearms Corp., Ruger Precision OpticsUSA LLC., among others.
Scope mounts are devices that allow a rifle to be attached to a M4/M16 type platform. A scope mount typically consists of a mount base and an attachment tube which is inserted into the mounting surface on the rifle. The attachment tube can have either standard Weaver- style connectors or Picatinny rails for attaching other accessories, such as optics. There are two main types of scope mounts: open bolt and closed bolt. Open bolt scopes generally use screws to attach the mount to the barrel, while closed bolt scopes use cams (or gears) to attach the mount to the receiver. Scopes with openbolt attachments typically use screw-on bases while those with closedbolt attachments typically use cam-lock bases. Screws used on openbolt scopes must be tightened in order to hold onto the scope; Cam locks however require only minor tightening in order to keep them secure against movement.
In 1915, Garden Grove was annexed by Los Angeles and became part of the city. In 1924, the city built a new park in the area that is now known as Downtown Garden Grove. The first public garden in Garden Grove was located on what is now Ventura Boulevard near Imperial Highway. In 1928, the City Council voted to establish a Botanical Gardens within the boundaries of the new park. The first curator for the Gardens was Dr. Wm. Davenport who served until his death in 1933. In 1938, when Los Angeles moved to its current location across Hollywood Boulevard from downtown Garden Grove, Municipal Court Judge Smedley Butler acquired land north of Central Avenue between Beverly Drive and Lankershim Boulevard for a Park District which would include a botanical garden as well as other recreational areas such as tennis courts, swimming pools and open-air theaters. On October 15th 1938 he dedicated "The Arboretum at Westwood" which included a small pond where naturalist Herbert Hoover presented an inauguration speech opening it on December 12th 1938 during which President Franklin D Roosevelt delivered his keynote address on behalf of UCLA's Board of Regents; Library trustee Julius Rosenwald also spoke about how "the gift from Mr . Rosenwald makes our library one of America's most beautiful". The original arboretum building still stands today next to Western Ave and Lankershim Blvd with many rare plants still present including jonquil (a type of amaryllis) and buttercups (fern). Other features still extant include: Albert Einstein Giving Address behind against wall; Ladies room with Tiffany glass doors leading out onto lawn; east wing has six large arches richly carved above gables with Ionic columns supporting entablature; west wing has two large arches richly carved above gables with Corinthian columns supporting entablature
Garden Grove, California is a city located in Orange County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 54,597. Garden Grove was founded on November 15, 1874 by Johann Strauss Jr. and his wife Anna Loria as a small town named after Anna's father, gardeners Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar. The first post office in Garden Grove opened in 1875. In 1907, the city annexed part of Anaheim which had a population of 25,000 people at the time. The annexation created an even larger market for goods and services brought to Anaheim by Garden Grove residents. In 1949, Garden Grove established its own police department and fire department. On July 20 of that year, Mayor Julius Axelrod announced that Garden Grove would become an independent city with its own mayor and City Council members. In recent history there have been many advancements made to the area such as the opening of several new businesses including Trader Joe's supermarket in 2003 which has since become one of Southern California's largest employers; Cox Television Channel 13 broadcasting from studios located withinwalking distance; as well as numerous other businesses throughout the years that have helped make Garden Grove one of Southern California's most vibrant cities! Today it still retains much of its small town atmosphere with farmers markets taking place every Thursday morning from 7am-10am outside of downtown while stores like Dillard's carry local produce from nearby farms during their weekly sales period; making for yet another great shopping experience for locals or visitors looking to take advantage of this unique community!

In the late 19th century, scope mounts began to be manufactured using aluminum or plastic materials. By World War I, all Scope Mounts were made of metal except for those used with Claymore Mines during World War II which required use of an aluminum alloy scope mount. The development of electronic sighting systems has led to the widespread adoption of eye-level scopes in modern firearms rifles and shotguns. This increase in accuracy has resulted in an overall decrease in demand for traditional Scope Mounts, leaving them increasingly rarer and more expensive to find. Although few Scope Mounters still own original ancient Style Metal Scopes from antiquity, they are highly collectible items due to their historical significance and unique design features
On 4/10/2009, the original scope mounts were made and are still in use today.
Garden Grove, California was founded on August 29, 1879 by 125 pioneers who brought overland from the east. The town got its name from a grove of trees near the original site. The founders were John Sutter and his brother Doniphan. They named their new community after Grove Park in London where they had property that they bought in 1814. The first post office in Garden Grove was established on October 12, 1879. It was called Groveland but changed its name to Garden Grove on November 2, 1880. The first store opened in December 1879 and it was called the Jardine Store. In 1886 the first school opened in Garden Grove and it was called the First Baptist School. The population of Garden Grove grew rapidly during the late 1800s due to agricultural production and mining investments that started coming into play in this area during that time period. By 1910 there were over 1,500 people living in GardenGrove and it had become one of Southern California's most populous towns. Many of these families came from eastern England through Ellis Island when they were processed into American society during the early 1900s A big factor behind this growth is definitely water availability as well as an increase in transportation options which made growing food possible for these settlers throughout much of Southern California
The City of Garden Grove was formed on August 24, 1887 when the merger of the two towns of Garden Grove and Lynwood. The original town site was located in what is now Lynwood. The name "Garden Grove" originated from a nursery in nearby Anaheim where many of the early settlers bought plants for their homes.
