In 1915, the citys first high school, Fuller School, opened its doors to students. The City Council voted in 1917 to change the name of the school from Fuller to Fullerton High School in honor of George and Eliza Fullerons son, Alonzo "Al" Fullerton. The city's first professional football team was fielded byFullerons local team called the Indians in 1919. In 1922,Alonzo "Al" Fullerton donated land to form what would become Disneyland. As part of a promotional campaign for Disneyland he took on the role of village trustee for Huntington Beach which at that time included Anaheim Hills and Laguna Niguel. On October 20th 1949 when Disneyland opened it was self-proclaimed as Americas first "Giant Ticket". The City Council voted on November 15th 1948 to annex unincorporated areas east of State Route 154 (Hollywood Freeway) between Live Oak Boulevard and Van Ness Boulevard theretofore belonging to Orange County and also annexation territory lying southward along Hollywood Freeway between Geico Way (now Vine Street) and Lankershim Boulevard to Irvine Avenue thence southward along Lankershim Boulevard past Claremont Avenue into Los Angeles County; these annexation territories are now known as Cerritos Heights, Glendale Heights, Monrovia Park, Pasadena Hills and Santa Clarita Hills; all except Cerritos Heights were annexed on January 1st 1949 pursuant to section 3(c)of the Cities & Villages Reorganization Act approved December 17th 1946 by both houses of the state Legislature having been so recommended by then Mayor Harry Jugan; all but Cerritos Heights were annexed prior to their incorporation into full cities under this act’s provisions.. On February 14th 1951 San Bernardino Municipal Court decided in favor of petitioner Angelo Mancini et al., Respondents herein against respondent Falla Laughlin et al., Petitioners herein who had sought temporary restraining order enjoining enforcement thereof pending resolution thereof through writ or injunction proceedings seeking declaratory judgment that said municipality is not within boundaries set forth therein pursuant thereto; immediately upon decision herein cited authorities supporting grant de facto recognition herein appeared before municipal court judge Sergeant Easley whereinupon said judge ordered issuance therefrom immediately subject theretoto hearing pending final determination therein per his orders aforesaid therefore respondents appealed certiorari therefrom with leave denied
