Today Frémont still has a highly active civilian sector with contributions to many local charities including the ecology organization Alameda Woods Foundation The history of Fremont begins with two groups who set out from Monterey Bay in September 1769 aboard HMS Beagle under Captain Cook as he sailed his exploratory voyage around Australia. These were José Manuel Nieto who commanded boat #1 while Antonio Crespo led boat #2 and they were looking for land that could be explored for resources like gold or oil. They did not find any such land but instead sighted what they thought might be Java island off Cape Horn but mistook it for Antarctica because there was no ice on that part of ocean at that time! A year later another group went ashore named Spanish Discovery who discovered oil wells near what is now Hayward Mills bowling alley in 1870! This discovery helped spur development along nearby El Camino Real corridor since shipping would now have to go through downtown instead of getting diverted up north via Ascalon Road! In 1851 Governor Goodwin Coleman appointed James Haughton Director Of Mines & Mining Atomics within LOS ANGELES COUNTY after hearing about problems faced by other counties with regards to lack thereof in production! With this appointment came increased production efforts throughout Kern county specifically due to Dr. John Sutter’s expansive holdings at Sutterville which included over 3 million acres (!), all encompassing present day Kern County - making him one powerful man! As things started improving within LOS ANGELES COUNTY however things began going wrong elsewhere too; starting with Chico being incorporated into LA COUNTY in 1863 despite having no voting power whatsoever compared to other municipalities!! What followed were multiple referendums asking residents if they wanted their municipality merged into larger entities like this while also dealing with socio economic segregation which continues even today despite attempts by government officials both past and present time period!!! It wasn’t until 1967 when finally voters approved Measure B aka annexing Chico into LA COUNTY without their consent!! This annexation means Chico lost nearly half their population size (-50%!), effectively reducing their ability politically AND economically speaking whilst continuing social segregation behind closed doors!! Despite these challenges though Chico persistently strives towards progress still!!!

Fremont is a city located in western Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. Fremont is the most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area and second-most populous city in Northern California after San Francisco. Fremont's 1847 evaluation of an agricultural land grant by Governor John Goodwin Barrow that included present day Fremont and parts of Hayward, Union City and Newark (now part of Oakland). At first, it was called Rocklin because no town had been built there yet. The first permanent residents were Mission Indians who lived near what is now downtown Fremont before coming to live on government land east of Mission Street between Mariani Road and High Street in 1846. The mission was destroyed by fire on December 6, 1848; however, the Indian occupants continued to reside there until May 14, 1850 when they all moved out to what is now Hayward due to new grazing restrictions set by Mexican authorities following American occupation during the Mexican–American War. In January 1850, General James K Longstreet ordered Major David Dixon to take possession of all Indian property west of Bushnell Avenue within 24 hours or face destruction by order of Longstreet himself. Dixon took possession and began construction on a frontier outpost known as Fort Point at the junction ofcurrent Interstate 80 and Highway 16 north of where Lake Merritt now sits – thereby becoming one halfofthe newly formed Bay Area . On February 15th 1850 Congress passed legislation creating California Territory which included Alameda County including present day Fremont as well as most surrounding areas eastward to I-80/Highway 16 (except for Newark). This territory would be divided into two counties – Contra Costa County with its largest town being Eureka while Alameda Countys smallest village was Visalia - with VISALIA becoming the new county seat for both jurisdictions on April 1st 1851 when Contra Costa became fully organized as a result of this legislation. In 1865 William "Buffalo Bill" Cody arrived in America from Buffalo Creek near modern Albany Park in New York State via overland route through northern California crossing Baja California then down into Sonora Mexico before finally reaching Promethean range just above modern Eureka . He purchased Rancho Rinconada de las Uvas about 12 miles northeast corneringpresent day Cow Hollow Rd & Reno Ave inside municipal limits then started ranching it using Nevada style corrals with his own stock purchased from Mexicans living along Humboldt River watershed across partly ice free seasonable river next winter running southwesterly parallel to main branch Feather River all winter long beginning early Febria
