As Silicon Valley grew rapidly from 1975 until 1991 when local economic conditions made it necessary for Palo Alto District No 2 - now known as Mountain View - to be created instead due to declining real estate values within Silicon Valley following the 805 Agreement between Stanford University, Microsoft Corp., Apple Inc., Intel Corp., Oracle Corp., EMC Corporation andibm International plc.), Fremont regained some lost ground but still lagged behind neighboring municipalities such as Santa Clara County’s Sunnyvale District No 3 (now Menlo Park) or Palo Alto District No 4 (now East Palo Alto). However since 2000s there has been significant growth taking place throughout much of downtown Fremont centering around First & Mission Streets South connecting various districts including Uptown/South Beach/Mission Station; trendy Columbia Square; Andreyevsky Center; Washington Square South; Masonic Hall East; Financial District West Plaza; Northshore/Bayview districts During World War II Japanese Americans living in Southern Hayward were interned at Angel Island Naval Radio Station before being transferred across the bay into Oakland during Operation Crossroads on February 19th 1942 . On September 9th 1941 about 200 Japanese American Citizens Of America leaders led by Miyoshi Shimomura were arrested outside City Hall following their peaceful rally demanding redress for their grievances against unfair treatment during World War II no less than 20 years earlier ! The incident served as catalyst for increased anti-Japanese sentiment throughout most of California leading up to World War II .
