Fountain Valley, California is a city located in the Inland Empire of Southern California. As of 2010, the population was 62,512 people and it is the most populous cities in Riverside County. The city has been called "the new San Diego" because its growth has outpaced that of San Diego. The early history of Fountain Valley can be traced back to 1879 when two brothers named William and John Fountain founded the town of Fountain Valley on Rancho Cucamonga's east side. The original town was built on land donated by their father-in-law, Don Carlos Bustamante. It was known as "Fountain Valle", after the nearby stream that supplied water for the community. By 1889, however, business had begun to grow so much in Fountain Valley that they decided to move into a more permanent location on section 712 of Rancho Cucamonga's west side. In 1892, William and John Fountain donated an additional 350 acres (160 hectares) to make way for what would become known as "FountainValley Park". This area now includes parts of Riverside County and stretches from Encinitas Boulevard in Encinitas northward to Corona Road in Moreno Valley. With this gift fromWilliam andJohn Fountain, residents could enjoy access to natural resources such as springs and wells without having to leave their homes or go through difficult journey through rural countryside. One important part of this park's founding story is its name – it was not until 1907 that a local school board approved the name "FountainValley High School" which served students from kindergarten through 12th grade at that time. Today's high school offers classrooms, science labs and a library with over 150 books - making it one of only a few schools in southern California with these capabilities! The opening of "FountainValley High School" marked an era where children living nearby started coming together for educational purposes instead of staying at home alone during those earliest days before public transportation became available beyond walking or riding horses/bicycles! One such educator who helped create this atmosphere at 'FountainValley' during its early years was Mrs. Florence Haughey….now long gone but still deeply missed by many who attended her classes back then!

Fountain Valley is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,883 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge of Kern County and north of Bakersfield. The name "Fountain Valley" comes from the nearby Fountain Creek. The first permanent settlement in what is now Fountain Valley was made by Joshua Freeman in 1827 on his Rancho San Pablo de la Página land northwest of present-day Bakersfield. In 1849, John Sutter and company founded the Sutter's Fort near what is now downtown Fountain Valley after driving out the last Lassen Paiute Chief. The fort served as a base for surveying and trading with Native Americans up the Feather River valleys. In 1850, George Cascades built a cabin on his rancho east of present-day Bakersfield where he settled until his death in 1861. His son Charles Cascades started farming there in 1865, when it was still part of Alameda County. Charles' father had come to California during the Gold Rush and established himself as a farmer and rancher near Fresno before moving to central California around 1851 or 52. In 1876, David Hahn started growing grapes at his farm northeast of today's Fountain Valley while working for American Grape Growers Association member Eben Smith at nearby Dry Creek Vineyard west of Bakersfield (now known as Dry Creek Winery). By 1886, Hahn had purchased much of Smith's vineyard and began producing wine commercially under his own name (Hahn Brothers Vineyards). During World War II many people worked at American Aircraft Factory manufacturing Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter planes at an airfield just south of town; some buildings remain today including one that housed aircraft parts fabrication shops used during WWII along with other production buildings for other companies making war equipment such as Ford Motors plants north and west of town along I-5.) It was not until 1957 that America's first self serve grocery store opened in what is now downtown Fountain Valley – The Grocery Outlet Company operated from three storefronts on First Street between East Broadway/Highway 99W (now Midtown Boulevard) and Interstate 5 until its closure in 1984 due to low sales rates; it reopened as Village Market later that year inside what are now Walmart stores across I-5 from Palmdale to Needles Nevada In 1976 Quartzsite National Monument opened adjacent to neighboring Mount Whitney National Park which would become home to Yosemite National Park thirty years later

By 1900, the population of the town had increased to around 100 people. The town experienced a growth spurt from 1910 to 1920, when it reached 300 people. However, during World War II, the population of Fountain Valley declined due to the lack of employment opportunities in the region. However, during the postwar period, there were increase in business and development within Fountain Valley thanks to new businesses such as the Safeway grocery store and Chevron oil refinery
