Fountain Valley is a small town in the San Bernardino Mountains of Riverside County, California. The population was 3,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Claremont–Montebello–Ontario Micropolitan Statistical Area. Fountain Valley was founded in 1879 by John C. Frick and his wife Emma Farragut. It became an incorporated city in 1909 and then a county seat in 1911. The city was reincorporated as a town on May 15, 2006, after it lost its status as a city because of voter opposition to annexing unincorporated areas into the town limits. The history of Fountain Valley starts with John C Frick who started out farming land near where he now lives and named the area Fountain Valley after his family's favorite fountain located in Rome, Italy which he had seen when he was young. In 1882, Phineas Mathers built an adobe home here that still stands today and became one of the first settlers in what would become Fountain Valley. Mathers ran a tannery here for many years until it closed down around 1912 due to competition from other tanneries in southern California at that time(the industry changed rapidly during this time). He also constructed several schools including one which still stands today called Monterey Hills Elementary School (now known as Westminster High School). In 1907-1911, Fountain Valley became part of Riverside County and experienced rapid growth due to agricultural production such as grapes and cotton along with service businesses like hotels, banks and post offices that began moving into town during this time period including some impressive examples such as Beverly Hills Hotel which opened up next door to Frick's property on October 6th 1911! During World War II, many local residents worked for various government agencies such as the Army Signal Corps detachment stationed at nearby Saugus before finally being discharged back home early 1945 when war ended! After hostilities ended however most citizens returned to their farm families or continued working within their respective industries but some new housing developments were built throughout Califorina starting with Sun City Lodge on December 12th 1964 just south of downtown Fountain Valley now defunct although parts remain standing

The city was founded in 1892 by a group of settlers from Eastern California who named it for the nearby Fountain of Youth and then renamed themselves after the community of Vallejo, which they had seen on maps. They first built log homes, but soon realized that they needed more space so they began to build cubes made out of adobe and stucco. In 1915, they also started building brick homes. In 1922,they added a public library and in 1933 their first park called "The Park" was opened. Over time, Fountain Valley has become one of the most developed areas in San Bernardino County with many high-tech companies and other businesses locating there including Intel, Qualcomm and Facebook among others. In addition to its rich history and culture, Fountain Valley is home to some of the most beautiful architecture in Southern California such as the Vallejo cube house built by developer Walter Wangert during World War II or the newly constructed Vallejo High School which opened in 2008.
