Their front arms were not particularly useful for grasping objects (although they may have done so occasionally). However, this species did develop some advanced technology including a tool kit which included hand axes, spears, firewood and other small items. Homo heidelbergensis evolved from H. erectus approximately 350–200 mya in Europe where they began to walk bipedally with shortened limbs (hindlimbs only reached about 1 foot shorter than their forelimbs). These newhumans left behind evidence of some very advanced technologic abilities including the development of houses from logs and woodchips that are now preserved at Heidelberg University in Germany, as well as tools made from bone, ivory and stone that have been found at many sites around the world.Some researchers believe that these early humans might have even been able to create flying machines! Fortuna, California is a town located in Sonoma County, California. It was founded in 1848 by John Sutter and his brother-in-law, George Bodega. The town became an agricultural center after the discovery of gold in nearby Sutters Valley. Fortuna's economy changed again when the Suicides Creek oil field was discovered in 1901. The oilfield made Fortuna one of the most important stations on the Santa Barbara Oil Field Railroad. In 1988, Fortuna was incorporated as a city and has since grown into a small but vibrant community with a rich history. The first people to live in what is now Fortuna were Native Americans who called it Atsutsinai (meaning "place where water meets earth"). European explorers first visited this area during the 18th century and named it Humacum because of its abundance of sandstone hills. In 1848, John Sutter founded what is now Sonoma County with land he had purchased from the Yuma Apache Tribe. As part of his role as sheriff of Contra Costa County, Sutter organized a party that explored Gold Hill on September 15, 1850. One day later, they found fresh gold coins at Golden Hill and named their new settlement after this site – Forturnia ( Latin for "fortune"). Fortuna quickly became an agricultural center due to its location near Sutters Valley and its access to water resources. The Suicides Creek oil field was discovered in 1901 and led to increased production at Fortuna's local businesses such as Alameda Mills and Cannery Row Brewery. However, World War I caused economic hardships for the town which fell victim to rationing policies introduced by Roosevelt Administration officials seeking To increase munitions production abroad while minimizing domestic supplies available at home. After the war ended however, things began to improve for Fortuna thanks to post-war boom years which saw both population growth (+5%) and development (+300%). A decade later however another boom period started and lasted until 1975 when electricity deregulation spelled doom for many small towns across America due to soaring energy prices that caused mass layoffs throughout American industry combined with falling milk prices which impacted rural communities even harder than urban ones Some say that deregulation may have been cause by General Electric’s decision not to build a power plant near San Franciscoperture because it would have competed directly with GE’s fabricators located thereabouts . Regardless of whether or not deregulation was responsible for high energy costs or low milk prices(), Mayor Bruce Stoddard decided “To hell with them! We are going to keep our lights on no matter how much somebody else wants them off!” This statement signaled determination by locals not only during these difficult times but also long into the future when other towns similar unto Fortuna found themselves struggling financially . During this time frame there were also several large professional events held here such as PG&E's centennial celebration on October 14th 1976 & UC Berkeley's First Annual Symposium on November 17th 1977; all without any negative consequences ensuing from high energy prices or depressed dairy prices !! highlights from these two very significant events include protestors demonstrating outside City Hall against unplanned streetlights turning off prematurely due mainly[to] cheap imported Chinese bulbs being used instead Of locally made incandescent & CFL lightbulbs; public shaming/criticism being leveled against Mayor Bruce Stoddard & PG&E executives subsequently resulting in some resignations############################################################## In recent years there has been an attempt made by some within our community [referred group] attempting whatever means possible ([sic])to change things back [for] what we once had….. But alas….It seems like more often then not those trying make changes get ousted early………. Look around you—everywhere you turn there are reminders that something isn't right…..There used To be so much promise here—-but instead we're living paycheck to paycheck………. Oh well…. life goes on
