This move set off a chain reaction that saw other cities in Southern California annex parts of adjacent counties until there were only thirteen cities left in Orange County: Irvine – one corner; Santa Ana – two corners; Laguna Beach – three corners; Newport Beach – four corners; Irvine Coastline - five corners; Huntington Beach – six corners; Costa Mesa/Pinehurst/Mission Viejo - seven intersections; Torrance — eight intersections—making it one hundred percent urbanized since 1957!
