In 1859, two Fillmore men, Levi Coffin and John S. Kapp, founded the first magazine in Fillmore. The pair were inspired by the then-new revolver technology and decided to create a magazine that would be both efficient and reliable. They named their new company the "National Rifle Association." It was not until 1866 that they opened their first store in Fillmore proper. The early years of NRA's history were very challenging as they had to overcome many obstacles such as lack of funding, high competition from other firearm companies, and public opinion which was staunchly against firearms. Despite all these challenges, NRA continued to grow and achieve success over time. In 1895, NRA merged with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) to become one of the largest firearms organizations in the world. This merger allowed NRA to stay active in multiple industries while also providing support for gun safety initiatives around the world. Today, NRA continues its mission of promoting responsible gun ownership through education and activism.

Fillmore is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California. It is located about 30 miles east of Fresno, and about 60 miles north of Sacramento. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. In 1856, Fillmore was founded by Augustus Fillmore and his wife Elizabeth Ketchum. They named their farm Fillmore after John Cranch's filly Lillie filled with corn that they had bought from Mr. Cranch. In 1868, Augustus Fillmore built a log cabin on the current site of Fillmore Elementary School. He also raised chickens and pigs on the property until 1870 when he sold it to Elias Bickerton for $1,000 cash. In 1876, George Hagerty purchased Fillmore from Elias Bickerton for $2,500 cash; he renamed it Hagerty Ranch after his father-in-law's ranch in Nevada where he had been born and raised. In 1880–81, Hiram Maxim established a smelting furnace at nearby Niguel Point to produce silver ore for filling up American trains with coins worth $5 each (the first coin minted in America). From 1886 to 1889 he operated a general store here which became one of the most important businesses in town during this time period because it traded goods with other settlements in the San Joaquin Valley as well as Fresno and Stockton across the state line

In 1872, Californian Congressman John Sutter established what is now known as San Francisco State University on fillmore land near Golden Gate Park. Soon after, other colleges were established in nearby Daly City and North Beach following Sutter's lead; these schools would become some of the most famous universities in America. San Francisco quickly became one of the leading cities in California due to its wealth derived from its natural resources - including coal and copper - as well as its growing economy. However, despite this progressivism at times ,Fillmore community values remained primarily rural farmingcountry people centered around their agriculture lifestyle . FillMORE still has many traditional ways suchas Tucker wrestling(a sport that started here),Horse shoeing(an annual custom)and quilting (a traditional craft). Many residents also retain strong ties to their agricultural heritage by continuing to farm their own land or renting out land for use as pastures or vineyards
The Fillmore Auditorium, located in downtown San Francisco, is a historic concert hall and art museum that was first built in 1922. It served as the home of the Golden Gate Quartet from 1942 to 1957 and has been used for other acts since then. The auditorium is also known for its large collection of jazz instruments, including several horns and trumpets owned by Lester Young.
