Gun chokes, or gun stoppages, are a type of firearm choke that often results in the loss of ammunition. Chokes were first developed for shotguns and rifles to prevent accidental discharge. They have since become common with handguns as well. A handgun's muzzle velocity is directly related to its capacity to fire rounds quickly. The faster the round can travel through the gun, the more likely it is to be stopped by a choke. A shotgun has a three-choke system that uses two barrels connected by a long tube (the shot barrel). When one barrel fires, both barrels push down on the front of another barrel below, which then closed off from the back of the first barrel permanently. This prevents most rounds from passing through and detonating prematurely in either barrel. A rifle has four-choke system that uses four barrels connected at right angles by a short tube (the stock barrel). When one barrel fires, all four barrels push down on the front of another Barrel Below which then closed off from back of stock permanently. There are multiple types of gunshot chokes. Gun chokes are the most common type and they stop the ammunition from traveling any further down the barrel. They can be used with pistols and rifles, but are often more useful for shotguns. Shotguns have a much shorter barrel than handguns, so using a gun choke will decrease the effective range of your weapon.
The Fillmore Massacre took place on July 18, 1997 in Fillmore, California when a group of gunmen opened fire on a small crowd of concertgoers. Twenty-six people were killed and thirty-four were injured. The gunman was later identified as Christopher Dorner.
Fillmore is a small town in San Joaquin County, California. The population was 7,824 at the 2000 census. It is located on U.S. Route 101 and Fillmore Road, about 38 miles (61 km) north of Sacramento. The Fillmore name comes from two places: one near Fillmore Creek and the other near Fillmoor Rancho de las Pulgas (now part of Rohnert Park). Fillmore Creek ran through the town, so it was called "Fillmore" because of that. When first settled in 1851 by pioneers from New Mexico and Iowa, Fillmore had a population of just 12 people. By 1870, it had grown to over 100 people thanks to additional immigration from Europe and other parts of the United States. In 1896, when Ulysses S. Grant became President of the United States, he reached out to his political allies in Northern California for help with Reconstruction after the Civil War ended. They invited him to come visit their communities and see how they were doing; during his stay in Fillmore, he made several speeches urging them to build new homes and increase their numbers. In 1898–99, he helped found the Sierra Club here in what would become known as Silicon Valley; since then it has been an important center for environmentalism throughout America (see also Sierra Club). Fillmore is a town in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Modesto Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Fillmore Auditorium was a concert hall in San Francisco, California. It was built in 1935 by the theater company of the same name and served as their home for performances until 1976. The building also hosted other events such as the Golden Gate International Jazz Festival and Academy Awards ceremonies.
