Farmersville has been a town in Marin County, California since 1876. The community was named for General James Fenton, who had commanded the First Regiment of Californios during the Mexican-American War. The first ammunition store in Farmersville was established in 1876 by W.J. Baird and Elisha Goode. The store operated until 1908, when it became the first post office in Farmersville. In 1916, the American Ammunition Company was founded in Farmersville by J [John] Sayers and G [George] Beattie. In 1918, AAMI bought out American Tobacco Company’s share of the company. In 1924, AAMI merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester-Winchester Repeating Arms Company (WRAC). In 1934, WRAC merged with Samuel Colt Corporation to become Colt Firearms Corporation (CFC). In 1945, CFC merged with Browning Armory Corporation to form Browning Arms and Ammunition Corporation (BAAC). In 1948, BAAC merged with Remington Arms Company to form Remington Rand Corporation (RAND). In 1951, RAND acquired six rifle companies from Browning Armory Corporation: Savage Arms Manufacturing Company; Vickers Firearms Manufacturing Company; Colt Firearms Manufacturing Co.; Ruger and Smith & Wesson Rifle Companies; and Sturm Ruger & Co., Incorporated (SR&CO). The following year RAND announced that it would merge all these companies into one organization called National Defense Industries Incorporated (NDI).

Farmsville was founded in 1887 by Johnnie Denton and his wife Fannie. It became a city in 1923 with the addition of the village of North Farm to its boundaries. The City of Farmersville merged into the Fresno metropolitan area on January 1, 1997. Farmsville is named after Captain James Akins (1784-1850), who led an expedition through this region in 1825 looking for new grazing land for livestock purposes. This early settlement was also called Akins Station because Captains James Akins and George Armstrong came here from San Francisco on July 3rd, 1827 to purchase land which they would build a cattle station on. In 1850 Captain Akins donated 200 acres (80 ha) of what are now Farmersvillette to the State of California as part of Rancho San Joaquin del Norte; it remains so today as part of Yosemite National Park's White Mountain Ranch Preserve east of Half Dome and west of Yosemite Valley within Yosemite National Park proper - one half mile (1 km) north-northwest of today's Farmersvillette intersection with I-5 just outside Yosemite Village limits - making it one day's ride from both destinations! The first post office opened at Farmersvillette on February 12th, 1886; it closed on October 25th due to low mail volume! The present post office building was built between 1905 and 1907 by J P Taylor & Bros., builders from Stockton, California. It replaced an earlier structure that had been built c1900 by Wm S Barnes & Son.. A notable resident during practically every important phase in local history has been Mrs Fannie Denton (1887-1983). She chaired various civic organizations including Ladies Auxiliary Committee for First Baptist Church (later Hillsborough Presbyterian Church), Women’s Club affiliate Kindergarten District 34A School District No 2 booster club etc., served as Mayor pro tempore 3 times when City Council met over summer recesses at her home prior to their regular meets downtown each fall--a feat not often accomplished these days--and took caretaker role during many major rainsstorms such as Flooding #3 which struck May 30st 1953 while she vacationed near Redding; grocery store flooding aftermath caused extensive damage along Zinfandel Boulevard frontage areas especially affecting Store Front Bldg where basement levels were flooded subsiding entire brick wall height below ground level resulting loss total value original $225 tons estimated value 5x current approximated values less than contents worth less than foundation support 4x rooflines impacted numerous water infiltration points creating hazardous conditions extremely wet interior floors allSummer long Gangrenous roots penetrated floor joists throughout exterior walls several months later finally ended up having to cut some limbs off tree due excessively high water table inside building leaving only single comerceable window opening above elevation gain typical for that time period size being exceeded only recently since then window dressing has removed most visible evidence remaining before impact

Farmersville is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 46,594 at the 2010 census. It is located on the north shore of Contra Costa Bay and is part of the Richmond Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is named after George Washington Carver, Sr., an early settler who plowed and raised crops in what would become Farmersville. The first settlers in Farmersville were James Hargrave and his wife Ann (née Wood). They arrived in 1847 from Connecticut and began to clear land near present-day Rocky Mount Road. In 1848 they married Mary Fenton, who had also come from Connecticut. The family soon enlarged their holdings by buying land east of Interstate 80 along present-day Hearst Avenue. Over time, other families joined the Hargrave/Fenton family in Farmersville; among them were the Poston/Lambert families, the Waddell/Butterfield families, and finally the Cooks/Kelsey families. In 1868 Farmer John Dickey set up shop as a dry goods store at 401 Nevin Street with two wagonloads of goods brought overland from Sacramento via Yuba Pass. By 1870 Dickey had developed a large farm that included haymaking, corn culture, cattle raising and a small mill capable of producing flour for local markets. His son John Aiken Dickey took over operations from father in 1906 when John's health failed; he remained president until his death in 1952 Dickey's daughter Fernanda married homebrewer Harvey Pyle (1915 - 2001) who founded Pacific Breweries Ltd., one of Northern California's leading breweries until it was bought by Anheuser Busch In 1996
