The area now known as Fairfield was once home to a large population of Mexican immigrants who lived and worked in the fruit orchards and dairy farms around the town. Gunmakers like Gomez did not initially sell their products directly to consumers but instead leased space from local merchants or sold cases direct to consumers through word-of-mouth networks. This process continued until about 1880 when companies like Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester) started marketing firearms directly to consumers through licensed dealers. By this point, handgun sales had become one of the most important sources of revenue for businesses in America and handguns were seen as a key part of America’s “gun culture”—a cultural norm that persisted well into the 20th century.

In 1860, residents of Palos Verdes Peninsula voted to secede from Kern County and form a separate state called California. At first, local officials did not recognize this decision and tried toICA banish the Palos Verdes peninsula residents from their city limits; however, this attempt failed. On November 10, 1861, Mayor George Hahn proposed that the City Council vote on whether or not to annex adjacent ranchlands belonging to Rancho San Diego owner Doniphan Kenedy for services rendered as sheriff and marshal during an insurrection against Mexico – an event that would later become known as the Kenedy Rebellion. The council agreed with Hahn and passed an ordinance annexing the lands withoutargument on December 3rd of that year. In 1865, following American Civil War victory over Mexico at Buena Vista Field near present-day Hawthorne Boulevard in San Bernardino Mountains (now part of Riverside), several hundred farm families from Rancho La Puente came into Fairfield seeking relief and resettlement due to bountiful crops brought about by war production efforts in Southern California combined with low prices for goods exported from North America due to blockadeaded ports throughout Europe (see Great Depression). Most were welcomed but some were refused entry because they lacked proper documentation such as birth certificates or citizenship papers proving they belonged inside of United States borders while others had counterfeit documents created through fraudulent signatures process common during wartime times In 1872 another group of Hundred Immigrants camped overnight outside of town near old US military base Camp Pendleton until Guard troops destroyed it using live ammunition after complaints from nearby citizens who saw men picking through trash cans looking for food 4 miles away
