Fairfield is a small city in the Central Valley of California, located about 120 miles (195 km) northeast of Fresno and 80 miles (129 km) south of Stockton. After World War II, Fairfield saw a growth in recreational activities associated with nearby Yosemite National Park which brought more people to town for weekends than ever before. During this time also came many changes including the incorporation of several other towns into Fairfield such as Antioch and Downey within the last decade or so

In 2000, Fairfield annexes portions of unincorporated region east-northeast of downtown Los Angeles County and creates what is now known as East Hollywood section within its boundaries. Today,Fairfield is an economically vibrant community that continues to grow while preserving its unique cultural heritage. The city has a rich history dating back to 1873 and offers visitors attractions such as its historical buildings and neighborhoods as well as tasty restaurants and nightlife options.

They built a cabin on the edge of a small creek and named their settlement after themselves,Fairfield County. The town began as a small trading post and later grew into an agricultural center with major crops such as wheat, corn, grapefruit, apples, hams and pork. After World War II, industry took over the town's economy and it declined in population until the early 21st century when a resurgence in development led to growth in the community. Today, Fairfield is one of California's most vibrant communities with many businesses and cultural institutions making it an attractive place to live, work or raise children.
