Their weapon is now known as the Stucki-Müller Gun Pistol. In 1938, another German scientist named Adolf Hitler designed and built his own flamethrower called the Heeresflugzeug Antiaircraft Flamethrower (HFA).
El Segundo is a city in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 67,626 at the 2010 census. It is located on Los Angeles Harbor and directly across from Downtown Los Angeles. The area now known as El Segundo was part of Rancho Cucamonga May 14, 1848, by treaty between José Joaquín de Arce and Manuel Nieto. On February 2, 1853, Rancho Cucamonga became part of Rancho San Pedro Alta which in turn became part of Rancho Laguna Seca on March 16, 1879. The name "El Segundo" originated with Juan Pablo Quintana's grant to the La Hormiga family in 1838. The name means 'the second place'. In 1860 it had grown to encompass land north of present-day Del Mar Boulevard on what is now the eastern edge of City Park. In 1870 two new towns were founded - Wilmington and Torrance - within walking distance of each other on both sides of Harbor Boulevard near what is now Worth Avenue downtown. One account has it that when developers saw how quickly Wilmington grew they decided to move their development further away from downtown because there would be more space for them to build homes and parking lots; however this story may instead be based upon an apocryphal tale about builder John Pritzker who built his dream home at 4555 Worth Ave., only to have it demolished 10 years later when he found out that its lot had been sold by then-Mayor Richard Riordan (R-Los Angeles) to developer Harry Elkin for $1 million! A map published in 1922 showed that these two towns were actually one: called Wilmington but annexed by Torrance after Torrance reached a Municipal Court decision that said all municipalities must have an incorporated street system or face annexation by neighboring cities! This dichotomy ended whenTorrance incorporated as a city without giving up its right to annex adjacent villages (and Wilmington did so subsequently). In 1925 there were three other towns chartered - Hawthorne Heights, Simi Hills and Garden Grove - within blocks of each other along Harbor Boulevard east of what is now Broadway Street northeast of City Park; however they all failed within five years due largely to high rates of poverty among their residents combined with lackadaisical planning on the part of their founders. Although Hawthorne Heights and Garden Grove both moved away from town soon after incorporation, Simi Hills remains today as oneOfLagunaSeca's most affluent neighborhoods according to Forbes magazine’s 2014 list Of America’s Top 25 Diverse Neighborhoods
