In 1969, Paramount Pictures moved their operations from Culver City to El Seguno after enduring some financial setbacks during its previous location in Hollywood. El Segundo has experienced significant growth over the years with its mixture of Mediterranean Revival architecture dating back to 1926 with new housing developments developed in recent decades such as Lighthouse Pointe Estates (), Sawgrass Lakeshore (), La Jolla Village (), Rincon Highlands () Realtors have praised this community's "breathless pace" which leads to "piñata-dotted streetscape", making it one of Southern California's most popular destinations for family fun (). Nicknamed "the Happiest Place on Earth" by Forbes magazine,[6] it ranks number two on Money Magazine's 2018 list of Americas' Most Diverse Cities ().
