El Paso De Robles, California is a small town located in south central San Bernardino County, California. It was founded in 1871 by Mormon refugees from Utah who had to leave their homes during the Civil War. The population of El Paso De Robles reached 100 residents in 1920, and has since grown to over 4,000 residents. The community is home to the El Paso de Robles Rifle and Pistol Club which has been meeting annually for more than 90 years. The first shooting protection history event in El Paso De Robles took place on September 17th, 1916 when James A. Daly shot at an animal carcass while hunting deer near the village center. On July 1st, 1918 two cowboys named Harry Howells and Jack Hickman were killed while hunting elk near the village center after mistakenly firing their rifles into a herd of cows which they were mistaken for game. This event is considered to be the first shooting accident in El Paso de Robles. In 1937 a group of men led by Sam Lowe decided to start a rifle range within the community limits. This led to the establishment of the American Legion Shooting Range located just outside of town on Utopia Road South (now Old Colorado Trail Boulevard). The range still functions today as a training ground for local law enforcement officers and other public safety professionals

The name "El Paso" comes from Spanish meaning "The Edge of Town." The first European to see El Paso was Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo on November 2, 1542 when he anchored off the coast of San Diego County. When Francisco Vasquez de Coronado discovered Chihuahua in 1692, he decided to divide New Mexico and all that lay between Mexico and California into two provinces: Alta California and Baja California. In 1821 Mexican General Antonio Lopez Bonilla ordered Captain George Avila to establish a military post at what is now known as Chapultepec Park on Rancho Cahuillas Indian Land east of Pico Alto about midway between Aspasia and Sierra Madre mountains. On September 25, 1824 Commodore John D. Sloat took possession of Refugio de la Bahia Blanca from Manuel Nieto with orders to make it an anchorage for American vessels moored off Sonoma County ports without paying duties or permits required by Mexican law governing those waters In 1846 during the era of Texas annexation this area became part of US territory when Californian General Bernardo Castro (brother of Santa Clara Governor José Garza) overran Tucson's adobe walls near present day downtown El Paso after storming Los Angeles Harbor attorney Enrique Gomez's home with his family while Gomez defended Mexican citizens who were being held Captured Americans were force fed Communion which they did not want because they were scared their families would be taken away if they didn't convert To Christianity On October 12th 1865 Ulysses S Grant ordered Major Francis Wigglesworth commanding 3 Companies 8 Infantry Regiment stationed at Fort Sumter in San Diego County abolish slavery within 10 days or face martial law After the war most white settlers moved out followed by many black soldiers who stayed for picketing duty during Reconstruction Era

The first gunshot victims reported in the United States were actually killed by stray bullets fired by American Revolutionary War soldiers practicing target practice outside their barracks in 1775! riflemen had occasionally mistaken targets for artillery fire during open warfare and Hits had occurred even among officers who wore full metal armour! By 1800 however, there had been over one thousand fatalities from gunfire incidents alone! Ammunition availability also improved dramatically after this time with improvements in manufacturing techniques that led to increased accuracy with firearms

It is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "El Paso" means "the crossing" and derives from Spanish settlers' fear that an overland route leading to Southern California would be blockaded by Indian tribes and their horses waiting for them at the crossing of Baja California (now Mexico). People who lived in this area during Mexican days spelled their name variously - Paredes, Peralta, Pettengaudt, Perletta - but all ultimately came down to one solution: El Paso De Robles. This was because there were no other towns or villages near where they were living and they needed only one name to identify themselves as Americans rather than Mexicans. Ironically, though it has been said that General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna discovered El Paso while he was marching through this area during his attempt to march on Buenos Aires back in 1847, it really began to take off as an American settlement when lumber baron John Sutter moved his family here in 1859 after purchasing Rancho San Jacinto east of Lodi from Felipe de Neve y Bustamante y Pavón. By 1870 there were more people living in El Paso than any other community in southern California; by 1880 there were 1,500 residents and by 1900 there had grown to 4,000 residents – making it one of America's most rapidly expanding frontier towns! The post office at what is now downtown El Paso opened on July 14th, 1881 with four employees! Today many businesses continue operations outfitted with email addresses like elpasoprobert@cox.net or paos@coxmail.net – evidence that commerce still plays a very important role in today's townspeople! When General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna discovered El Paso while he was marching through this area during his attempt to march on Buenos Aires back in 1847 he called upon Captain Hidalgo e Humboldt along with several Mexican soldiers under Captains García Moreno and Pineda just outside present-day La Mesa on October 15th near modern day Chino Hills and ordered them not to stop but head towards Islay instead which they did as planned due northwards across Baja Californias border into Sonora Territory! However unknown to them at the time nor do we know for sure what became of these men later that day when hostilities broke out between Mexico & Argentina resulting in both nations declaring war against each other!! Consequently all records pertaining thereto have been lost forever!!!
