The proprietors were Hiram Bingham and Fenton Cobb Gates with Wm Henson among others selling fresh oranges from two or three story buildings back then including one called the ORangeship which still stands today across Home Avenue from Macy's department store - it was built in 1892 according to historical records! That same year another event happened which signaled the beginning of what would become El Centro’s major commercial district – when Jumbo Stores Inc., bought all shares in five other merchants operating under various names in downtown El Centro for an total value of $1,500 ($ million dollars today)). At this time there were only a few small businesses clustered around Second Street between Vinegar Hill Road and Western Ave (later renamed Broadway) with nobody having any real center like we do today! It wasn't until 1914 when Mayor George West readopted “Downtown Development Plan No 1″ which set out guidelines for creating streetscape features such as parks throughout Downtown business districts while also creating new rules forbidding parking within 100 feetof any business or library! That same year saw construction begin on what would become what are now Fourth Street between Mission Boulevard and South Spring Streets – this area later became home to many high end shops like Saks Fifth Avenue before finally becoming residential areas like Playa del Rey/Long Beach etc.. In 1916 Paramount Pictures moved into their new movie palace next door to State Fairgrounds – this became known as “ElCapitol”! In 1924 Ventura County was formed with portions going to LA City; however much later that same year when LA City annexed eastern Ventura County making it officially annexation territory again!! Finally in 1951 City Hall moved from its original location just northwest corner Third Street & Vinegar Hill Road (the current site where CVS Pharmacy currently stands) making way for newer shopping centers including Macy's 6ix9ine Records Warehouse & more recent additions like Staples Center & Honda Center!!! All told Pioneer Place stretching eastward from Vinegar Hill Rd through Commerce Park has seen over 260 different businesses come&go since 1991!!!!! In fact Pioneer Place currently holds more than half a million square feet Of retail floor space!!!! But back To our original topic….. What does ElCentRO have going for it? Well apart from being one of North America’s most redevelopment zones due largely to its history as an agricultural center during prohibition years, there are also many attractions nearby such as Playa del Rey beachfront property administered by Santa Monica Pier Authority administrated by Hollywood Pier Authority – both offer free admission day&night!! There are also several restaurants scattered throughout town catering towards a varietyof cuisines ealspecially Chinese food but don’t forget pizza places etc…. Plus if you want something less touristy but still enjoys some good eats then head down into Long Beach or Signal Hill where there are plenty of restaurants too!!!
