East Palo Alto, California (locally known as "Palo Alto" or just "East Palo Alto") is a city in Alameda County, California, United States. The population was 86,382 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area and is located on the eastern edge of Silicon Valley. East Palo Alto borders Stanford University to the north, Menlo Park to the east and south, Mountain View to the west and south. The first European settlers in East Palo Alto were Englishmen who arrived in 1776 and called it Eastman's Point because they had leased land from George Eastman. A business district sprang up around this location due to its advantages as a port for shipping goods out of San Francisco Bay. In 1853, Ulysses S Grant moved his family from Savannah, Georgia to escapea civil war in that state. He bought land near what is now downtown East Palo Alto for $10 per acre ($100 today). Grant named his new community after himself – "Grantville". In 1875–1876, Maclay College built a small campus in what is now northwest corner of First Street and Ghirardelli Avenue; it functioned as a summer school in addition to teaching high-school students during the academic year. In 1878–79 another college opened its doors at Whatcom Creek: Santa Clara University (now Caltech). This led to an increase in enrollment at both colleges; by 1889 there were three institutions providing undergraduate education within walking distance of one another: two public schools (Maclay School District #1 and Boys High School) and one private school (Caltech). In 1903 Sam Rayburn became Speaker of the House from Austin Peay County; he needed no money so he devoted all his income from Speaker's Corner Road which connected his home with Congressional buildings on Capitol Hill until he sold it for $12 million ($204 million today) including interest payments on that amount over 25 years! That left us with our beautiful street name - Congressional Row - perpetuating our connection with history! A fire destroyed much of downtown Oakland during 1906 Midwest earthquake; however some brick warehouses survived unscathed on Merchant Street between Second and Third Streets where many talented young engineers had their training before moving onto bigger projects such as WW2’s Manhattan Project or later developing Website Design software products like Adobe Photoshop etc... All these talented engineers are buried beneath streets like Merchant/Marquette/Union Streets today but their names will live forever along with their expertise! Another amazing example of how technology has changed lives!

By 1925, all Winchester firearms were powered by either gasoline or oil-fired gunsights and ammunition holders.
