The post-war years saw some decline as businesses closed down or relocated out of state; however, by the late1980s Duarte had begun to rebound as a bedroom community for Southern California. Today, it is home to over 4500 residents and is known for its rich history and architecture which has been preserved through numerous renovations throughout the years.
